Overview

AI-generated overview

Connects an AI assistant to your local EXTREMELY agency of AI agents: see what agents did, approve actions, answer requests, assign jobs and build agents.

What you can do
  • Review activity: list agents and read their files, see what the whole agency or one agent did since a time, and fetch an agent's latest report.
  • Handle what waits on a person: list and decide approvals, and read, reply to or close agents' requests.
  • Put agents to work: give an agent a job, run an agent now with or without a message, and change its ferocity or state.
  • Build and configure agents: read the builder guide, check a build, create or delete agents, rewrite their files and set their models.
  • Manage integrations: list and read integrations, save drafts and plugins, test tools and events, publish, and give tools or events to agents.
When to use it
Useful when you run the Extremely Autonomous Agents app on the same computer and want to supervise and steer your agents from Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code or another MCP app, instead of switching to the app's screens.
Requirements
Runs as a local process via npx (Node.js) and needs the Extremely Autonomous Agents app running on the same computer; the app discovers its own settings, so no keys are configured here. Optional EXTREMELY_MCP_URL or EAA_MCP_DISCOVERY override discovery. Desktop only.
Before you install
Tools act on real agents: deciding an approval, deleting an agent, publishing an integration and writing agent files or integrations change live state and are hard to undo. Publishing a plugin triggers a security review. For organizations hosted on another computer the app must be open and signed in; messages are relayed end to end encrypted through the provider's servers. Your AI app decides which tools run without asking.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open EXTREMELY agency in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Other MCP clients

Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

README

EXTREMELY agency for AI apps

Talk to your EXTREMELY agency from Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code, Windsurf or any app that speaks MCP:

  • "What did my sales agent do today?"
  • "What's waiting on me? Approve the email to Northside Bikes."
  • "Answer the Engineer's request about the CRM key."
  • "Give the research agent a job: find 20 bike shops in Leeds."
  • "Show me the content agent's latest report." / "Run it now."

It needs the Extremely Autonomous Agents app running on the same computer (free, open source: extremely.agency). The app finds everything itself, so there's nothing to set up here.

Add it

Most people don't need this page: in the app, Settings → Connectors → Your AI assistant connects Claude Desktop or Cursor in one click.

Any other app, or by hand: add an MCP server that runs

npx -y @extremely-agency/mcp

Claude Code:

bash
claude mcp add extremely -- npx -y @extremely-agency/mcp

Cursor, VS Code and Claude Desktop (mcpServers in their MCP settings):

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "extremely": { "command": "npx", "args": ["-y", "@extremely-agency/mcp"] }  }}

(VS Code's .vscode/mcp.json calls the list servers instead of mcpServers.)

What it can do

Everything your role allows in the app, about 30 tools:

What happenedagency_today, agent_activity, latest_report, list_agents, read_agent
Waiting on youlist_approvals, decide_approval, list_requests, reply_to_request, answer_request
Put agents to workgive_task, run_agent, set_agent
Buildcreate_agent, write_agent_file, set_agent_models, integrations (owners and admins)
Organizationslist_agencies; then agency: "<name>" on any tool

Your AI app decides which tools it may call without asking you. Tools that are hard to undo (deciding an approval, deleting an agent, publishing an integration) are marked as destructive, so apps ask first by default.

Organizations

With no agency, a tool works on your own agency. For an organization you're in, name it (list_agencies shows them). For an organization hosted on another computer, the app has to be open and signed in: it carries each message to the organization's host, end to end encrypted. Our servers pass on bytes they can't read. They never see your agency, keys or sign-ins.

Settings (rarely needed)

  • EXTREMELY_MCP_URL: one agency's MCP address, instead of finding the app (a self-hosted organization, or testing).
  • EAA_MCP_DISCOVERY: where the app's address file is, if not the usual place (%APPDATA%\Extremely Autonomous Agents\agency-mcp.json on Windows, ~/Library/Application Support/... on macOS, ~/.config/... on Linux).

Tools

31

list_agencies

List your agencies

Your own agency and every organization you are in, with your role in each and whether it answers right now. Pass one as `agency` to any other tool.

Takes no parameters.

list_requests

List requests

Requests agents filed for things they can't do themselves: what they need, why, where each stands, and the conversation with the Agency Engineer.

Parametersagencyinclude_closed

answer_request

Close a request

Close a request: done (say what was done, so the agent knows) or rejected (anything drafted for it is discarded). The agent hears on its next run.

Parametersagencyanswerstatusrequiredrequest_idrequired

reply_to_request

Reply on a request

Write in an open request, to the Agency Engineer (as in the app: everyone on the request sees it, and the Engineer is woken to answer).

Parameterstextrequiredagencyrequest_idrequired

give_task

Give an agent a job

Give an agent a job, from you: it starts on it as soon as it can and marks it done with the result (agent_activity shows it). For a question or a quick word, run_agent with a message instead.

Parameterstaskrequiredagencyagent_idrequired

list_agents

List agents

Every agent: id, name, department, owner, state (active / draining = standby / stopped), ferocity level, models, and whether it is built in.

Parametersagency

read_agent

Read an agent

An agent's files (CHARTER.md, TOOLS.yaml, KPI.yaml), its models and state, its last runs and its memory notes.

Parametersagencyagent_idrequired

write_agent_file

Replace an agent's file

Replace one of an agent's files: CHARTER.md (its job), TOOLS.yaml (tools, tiers, approval windows, ferocity plan) or KPI.yaml (which actions count as output). read_agent first. Its next run uses it.

Parametersfilerequiredagencycontentrequiredagent_idrequired

list_models

List AI models

The AI models connected in the app, which agents can be given (set_agent_models).

Parametersagency

set_agent_models

Set an agent's models

An agent's models: up to three, in order of preference; it falls to the next when one fails. Each {connection, model, effort: low|medium|high|max}, from list_models.

Parametersagencymodelsrequiredagent_idrequired

set_agent

Set an agent's ferocity or state

An agent's ferocity (how hard it works: Chill, Steady, Driven, Relentless, Apocalyptic) or state (active, draining = standby: starts nothing itself, stopped: runs nothing). Built-in agents have neither.

Parametersstateagencyagent_idrequiredferocity

builder_guide

Agent builder guide

Read this first when making an agent: the agent builder's whole brief - how agents work here, the tool catalogue and default tiers, the tools every agent gets, this organization and the person, the fleet, connected services and their tools and events, the connected models, how to interview the person, and how to tier. create_agent's fields carry the rest.

Parametersagency

check_build

Check an agent build

Check a build before creating it, without creating anything: the same input as create_agent. Answers with what's wrong, or what it would make.

Parameterskpirequirednamerequiredtoolsrequiredagencyeventsrequiredmodelsrequiredcharterrequiredferocityrequirednew_toolsrequireddepartmentrequirednew_eventsrequiredperson_notesrequired+5 more

create_agent

Create an agent

Add a new agent, as the app's agent builder would (read builder_guide first, and talk to the person the way it says): the full build - name, department, Charter, tools with tiers, events, KPIs, models, ferocity plan. Every id must exist (the guide lists them) or be one of its own new_tools / new_events, which go to the Agency Engineer as requests. Answers with what it made.

Parameterskpirequirednamerequiredtoolsrequiredagencyeventsrequiredmodelsrequiredcharterrequiredferocityrequirednew_toolsrequireddepartmentrequirednew_eventsrequiredperson_notesrequired+5 more

delete_agent

Delete an agent

Delete an agent: its files go, its approvals and requests are closed, work handed to it is closed as not done. Its past runs stay in Usage. Built-in agents can't be deleted.

Parametersagencyagent_idrequired

run_agent

Run or message an agent

Start an agent now. With a message, it answers it in its DM channel (as if the person wrote it); without, it does its job as on Run now.

Parametersagencymessageagent_idrequired

list_approvals

List approvals

Agents' actions waiting on a person in the app (sending, posting, going live...): only the ones that are yours to decide. decide_approval approves or rejects one.

Parametersagency

decide_approval

Approve or reject an action

Approve or reject one of the actions in list_approvals, as on the Approvals screen: approved, it runs now and the agent hears the result; rejected, the agent is told (with the note, if any).

Parametersnoteagencydecisionrequiredapproval_idrequired

agency_today

What the agency did today

What the whole agency did since a time (default: the start of today, the agency's own clock): per agent its runs, output actions and last summary, plus what's waiting on a person (approvals, open requests).

Parameterssinceagency

agent_activity

What an agent did

What one agent did since a time (default: the start of today): its DM channel posts (each run's write-up and the tools it used), the people's messages to it, and the jobs given to it.

Parameterslimitsinceagencyagent_idrequired

latest_report

An agent's latest report

An agent's latest report: the write-up of its last run that made one, and where its reports go (the place its person chose, e.g. a Drive folder).

Parametersagencyagent_idrequired

list_integrations

List integrations

Every integration (the services agents' tools run on): connected or not, draft or live, its tools. Plus whether code plugins are allowed.

Parametersagency

read_integration

Read an integration

An integration's definition (YAML), and a plugin's code. The shipped ones - brave-search (HTTP), github and gmail (code) - show the format.

Parametersagencyintegration_idrequired

write_integration

Write an integration draft

Save an integration definition (YAML, kind http | mcp | code) as a draft: it shows in the app's Settings > Connectors to be connected, and no agent can call it until publish_integration. Redrafting a live one keeps the live one working meanwhile. Keys and sign-ins are added by the person in Settings, never here.

Parametersyamlrequiredagency

write_plugin

Write a code plugin

Save a code plugin's TypeScript (only if code plugins are allowed in Settings): export default { tools: [{ id, tier, description, input, run: async (args, token, kit) => string }] }. Network only through kit.fetch; it runs sandboxed with the permissions its kind: code definition declares. It runs only once published.

Parameterscoderequiredagencymodulerequired

test_integration

Try an integration tool

Call one of an integration's tools for real (a draft or a live one), and see what an agent would. A plugin's code can't be tried before it's published.

Parametersargstoolrequiredagencyintegration_idrequired

publish_integration

Publish an integration

Make a draft live, and optionally give its tools to an agent. A plugin first gets the independent security review; a serious finding stops it. Done here, it doesn't wait for the app's Approvals.

Parameterstoolsagencyeventsfor_agentintegration_idrequired

test_event

Try an event

Try an integration's event (draft or live) without waking anyone: a real poll showing what it finds, and the webhook address to paste into the service.

Parametersagencyevent_idrequiredintegration_idrequired

give_events

Subscribe an agent to events

Subscribe an agent to live events: it wakes when they happen, as well as on its schedule. list_integrations shows each integration's events.

Parametersagencyeventsrequiredagent_idrequired

give_tools

Give an agent tools

Give an agent tools that a live integration (or the agency's built-ins) provides, each at a tier.

Parameterstoolsrequiredagencyagent_idrequired

discard_integration

Discard or remove an integration

Throw away a draft (a redraft of a live one goes back to the live version), or remove an added integration entirely. Shipped ones can't be removed.
