Overview

AI-generated overview

LightRay is a remote MCP server that checks companies, returning reports on owners, directors, filings, courts and press.

What you can do
  • Check a company by name plus city or country, reusing a stored recent report or starting a new one
  • Track a report's progress and read what has been found so far
  • Read a finished report: date, main point, questions to ask, findings, next steps, related companies and a link
  • List the reader's recent reports, newest first, with readiness status and links
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs background due diligence on a company — ownership, directors, filings, court records or press — before a meeting, deal or partnership, or when you want a report queued and checked later.
Requirements
A remote endpoint at app.lightray.ai over streamable HTTP; no packages, environment variables or headers are declared. A new report takes about 12 minutes to complete.
Before you install
Reports are generated by LightRay and its main point, questions, findings and next steps are LightRay's own output, so verify before relying on them. Company names and locations you submit are sent to a third-party service, and reports are tied to the reader's account.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open LightRay in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/ai.lightray%2Flightray/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

check_company

Check a company

Use this when someone asks about a company or wants one checked. Give the company's name and, if known, its city or country. If a recent report on the company is stored, it comes back at once; otherwise a new report starts and the answer says when it will be ready. A new report uses one of the reader's reports; asking again for the same company does not. When several companies match the name, the answer lists them: ask the reader which one they mean, then call this again with that company's choice token. LightRay checks companies, not people.

get_report

Read a report

Use this to see how far a report has got and what has been found so far, or to read a ready report: its date, the main point, any questions to ask, what was found, the next steps, the companies worth a look next and its link. LightRay writes each report: the main point, questions, findings and next steps are LightRay's. Give the report_id that check_company or list_reports returned, or the report's link. Reading a report uses none of the reader's reports.

list_reports

List my reports

Use this to see the reader's recent reports from here, newest first, each with whether it is ready and its link. It uses none of the reader's reports.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
