MapsData builds Google Maps lead lists with emails, phones and websites for US, CA, UK and AU, letting an assistant start, monitor and download scrapes.
What you can do
Look up valid business categories and exact region names before scraping, so queries are accepted rather than rejected as free-text guesses or abbreviations. Start a Google Maps business scrape that collects emails, phones and websites, returning a job id immediately. Check one scrape's status as an instant snapshot, with a suggested next action, and list the workspace's recent scrapes newest first. Cancel a queued or running scrape. Get a download link for a finished scrape's results. Check the month's remaining lead allowance and the largest single scrape the plan allows.
When to use it
Useful when you need a list of local businesses with contact details in the US, Canada, the UK or Australia, for example for outreach or market research, and want the assistant to run and track the scrape rather than collect data by hand.
Requirements
A remote endpoint at mapsdata.ai over streamable HTTP. A MapsData account and API key sent as an Authorization bearer header, created in Settings; clients that support OAuth can connect without it. A paid plan governs the monthly lead allowance and maximum rows per scrape.
Before you install
Scrapes consume a paid lead allowance, so check remaining usage and the maximum rows per scrape before starting one. Cancelling a running scrape still bills leads already delivered, so confirm with the user first. Download links expire in 15 minutes. Scraping collects business contact data, which may carry legal or privacy obligations depending on use.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/ai.mapsdata%2Fmapsdata/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
Search the Google Maps business categories MapsData can scrape. CALL THIS FIRST, before mapsdata_start_scrape: a scrape's query must be one of these exact categories, and a free-text guess like 'plumbing companies' is rejected.
Parameterslimitqueryrequired
mapsdata_list_regions
List valid regions
List the exact region names a scrape accepts for a country. Submit them verbatim. Abbreviations like 'TX' are rejected; use the full name.
Parameterscountry
mapsdata_start_scrape
Start a scrape
Start scraping Google Maps businesses and their emails. Returns IMMEDIATELY with a job id; the scrape itself takes 5 minutes to several hours.
Before calling this, confirm the category with mapsdata_search_categories and the region with mapsdata_list_regions. Those two mistakes are the overwhelming majority of rejections.
This consumes the user's monthly lead allowance. Set dry_run to check a request against every rule without spending anything.
Get the current state of one scrape. This is an INSTANT SNAPSHOT of a job that runs for minutes to hours. Do NOT call it repeatedly in a loop. The response includes next_action, the suggested next step for the job's current status. MapsData also emails the user when a scrape finishes.
Parametersjob_idrequired
mapsdata_list_scrapes
List recent scrapes
List this workspace's recent scrapes, newest first.
Parameterslimitstatus
mapsdata_cancel_scrape
Cancel a scrape
Cancel a queued or running scrape. A queued scrape costs nothing. CANCELLING A RUNNING SCRAPE STILL BILLS the leads already delivered, so confirm with the user before calling this.
Parametersjob_idrequired
mapsdata_get_download_link
Get a download link
Get a link to a finished scrape's results. The link expires in 15 minutes, so hand it to the user promptly rather than storing it.
Parametersscopeformatjob_idrequired
mapsdata_get_usage
Check plan usage
How much of this month's lead allowance is left, and the largest single scrape this plan allows. Read max_rows_this_scrape before choosing a total_limit.
Takes no parameters.
