Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote calculator MCP server that lets an assistant compute exact arithmetic, algebra, calculus, physics, chemistry and finance results with a checkable…

What you can do
  • Compute arithmetic, percentages, fractions, trig, logs and roots, plus geometry areas and volumes
  • Solve and manipulate algebra: polynomial roots, systems, inequalities, factor and expand
  • Run statistics and calculus: derivatives, integrals, limits, series, quadrature
  • Work with matrices and vectors, and convert units across length, weight, temperature and more
  • Apply physics, electrical, chemistry and India-oriented finance formulas such as EMI, SIP and GST
  • Convert number bases and bitwise values, and compute date differences
When to use it
Useful when an assistant must produce verifiable numeric or symbolic results instead of estimating maths itself, especially for homework-style algebra and calculus, unit conversions, engineering formulas, or loan and tax calculations.
Requirements
A remote Streamable HTTP endpoint; nothing to install. OAuth 2.1 sign-in with PKCE and dynamic client registration is required, so the client opens a sign-in page on first use. No environment variables or headers are declared.
Before you install
Requires an OAuth sign-in, so the server receives an authenticated identity tied to your account. Finance tools are India-shaped (EMI, SIP, GST) and results are formula-based, so they should not be treated as financial advice. It is read-only computation; no data writes are described.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Scientific Calculator in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/ai.saifs%2Fscientific-calculator/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

README

Scientific Calculator

A checked calculator the model must call instead of doing the maths itself. Each tool takes validated inputs and returns a numeric or symbolic result plus the formula or method that produced it — school arithmetic, algebra, calculus, matrices, units, physics, chemistry, electrical engineering, programmer conversions, and India-shaped finance (EMI, SIP, GST).

Install

VS Code / GitHub Copilot

Add to .vscode/mcp.json (workspace) or your user mcp.json:

json
{  "servers": {    "saifs-scientific-calculator": {      "type": "http",      "url": "https://scientific-calculator-mcp.saifs.ai/mcp"    }  }}

Then start the server from the MCP view and sign in when prompted.

Claude (claude.ai, Desktop)

Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, and paste:

https://scientific-calculator-mcp.saifs.ai/mcp

Claude Code

bash
claude mcp add --transport http saifs-scientific-calculator https://scientific-calculator-mcp.saifs.ai/mcp

Any other MCP client

Point it at https://scientific-calculator-mcp.saifs.ai/mcp using the Streamable HTTP transport. The server returns 401 with a WWW-Authenticate: Bearer … resource_metadata=… challenge, so OAuth-aware clients sign in automatically.
