Overview

AI-generated overview

Lets an assistant look up US product return policies, recalls and verified purchase outcomes, compare products and merchants, and submit purchase outcomes.

What you can do
BuyRecord exposes five tools for product and merchant research. search_products finds products by name, GTIN or SKU and returns a verified outcome summary plus price, availability, rating and return policy as published by the merchant, labelled not verified. get_product_outcomes gives a score, sample size, outcome breakdown and top return reasons for one product, and compare_products does the same for two to five products. get_merchant_profile reports return, complaint and delivery issue rates across a merchant's products, and submit_outcome records a purchase outcome.
When to use it
Useful when an assistant is helping someone judge a product or store before buying, for example checking return terms, recalls or aggregated buyer outcomes, or comparing several products side by side. Also relevant when a user wants to contribute their own purchase outcome.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint at api.buyrecord.app; no local runtime or package. The submit_outcome tool requires an API key sent in an Authorization Bearer header, and proof of purchase such as a Shopify order reference or a DKIM-signed merchant confirmation email.
Before you install
submit_outcome writes data and requires an API key in the Authorization header plus purchase proof (order details or a merchant confirmation email), so treat those as sensitive. Product price, availability, rating and return policy figures are marked not verified, and outcome data depends on stores joining the service.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open BuyRecord in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/app.buyrecord%2Fbuyrecord/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows
