Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote, read-only MCP server that gives an assistant structured peptide research profiles, evidence tiers, comparisons and educational content.

What you can do
  • Search peptide profiles by name, synonym or alias, filtered by research category or area
  • Read full research profiles: mechanism, targets, evidence tiers with cited sources, safety and regulatory status
  • Compare two or three peptides side by side on structured fields
  • Search the site's FAQs, articles and courses, and list research categories or weekly research trends
  • Run arithmetic helpers: unit conversion, solution concentration, blend concentrations and cost per amount
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to look up or compare peptide research evidence, check how much of it is human data, or find educational material and categories, without dosing or purchasing guidance.
Requirements
A remote Streamable HTTP endpoint; no account, API key or installation. Works with any MCP client that supports HTTP transport; rate limited to roughly 300 requests per minute per IP.
Before you install
Read-only and anonymous, with no account or personal data access. It deliberately gives no doses, regimens, reconstitution or injection instructions and lists no vendors or prices. The arithmetic tools only compute on numbers you supply and are not dosing recommendations. Research and educational use only, not medical advice.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Peptide Library in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/app.peptidelibrary%2Fpeptide-library/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Example questions

  • What does the research say about BPC-157, and how much of it is in humans?
  • Compare semaglutide and tirzepatide: mechanism, evidence and regulatory status.
  • Which peptides in the library are studied for cognition?
  • What is the FDA and WADA status of bremelanotide (PT-141)?
  • If 10 mg is dissolved in 2 mL, what is the concentration in mcg/mL?

Endpoint details

  • Transport: Streamable HTTP (POST), stateless. Protocol revision 2026-07-28 and 2025-era clients (2024-11-05 to 2025-11-25).
  • Authentication: none; every tool is read-only (readOnlyHint: true).
  • Limits: about 300 requests per minute per IP, 64 KB per request, 25 results per page.
  • Health check: GET https://peptidelibrary.app/mcp/health.

Privacy

No account and no personal data. Peptide Library keeps daily counts of requests, tool calls, errors and the client name your assistant reports; it does not store tool arguments, results or IP addresses. The hosting provider processes IPs to apply rate limits. Full policy: https://peptidelibrary.app/privacy#mcp-server

Data

Profiles follow Peptide Library's editorial policy and methodology: claims cite PubMed, DOI, trial registries and FDA or WADA records, and evidence is labelled by kind.

REST API

The same research data (plus the vendor directory and prices, with a free key) is available as a REST API for apps and scripts: https://api.peptidelibrary.app/v1, with an OpenAPI 3.1 spec, Postman collection and TypeScript and Python SDKs. Tools

10

search_peptides

Search peptides

Search the Peptide Library research database by name, synonym or alias (fuzzy), optionally filtered by research category or research area. Returns short educational profiles with evidence level and the canonical Peptide Library URL. Use get_peptide_details for the full profile. No dosing information.

Parameterslimitqueryoffsetcategoryresearch_area

get_peptide_details

Get peptide research profile

Full educational research profile for one peptide: classification, mechanism and targets, research areas, evidence by tier (regulatory label, controlled human trials, other human studies, secondary reports, animal and in-vitro research) with cited sources, safety and side effects, regulatory status (FDA, WADA), review dates and the canonical Peptide Library URL. Fields the profile lacks are "not_documented". Dose figures and administration instructions are never included.

Parameterspeptiderequired

compare_peptides

Compare peptides

Side-by-side research comparison of 2-3 peptides on structured profile fields: mechanism and targets, research areas, evidence level and human-trial availability, safety and side effects, FDA/WADA status, half-life and studied routes, with references. Each row says whether the values are the same, different, partial, not comparable or incomplete; missing data is never filled in and the comparison never ranks peptides. Suitable for tables. No dosing information.

Parameterspeptidesrequireddimensions

search_research

Search research content

Search Peptide Library's own educational content: the site FAQ, per-peptide FAQs, published articles and free courses. Returns titles, short snippets and links with source attribution (no full text, no third-party articles). Dosing, reconstitution and injection guides, and content about buying, vendors or prices, are excluded.

Parameterslimitqueryrequiredtypes

get_peptide_categories

List research categories

List the Peptide Library research categories (e.g. GLP-1/Metabolic, Cognitive, Longevity) with a description, the number of profiles and every profile in each, with links. Use a category id with search_peptides to filter.

Takes no parameters.

convert_units

Convert peptide amount units

Convert an amount between mg and mcg exactly. IU ↔ mass conversion only works with a peptide whose profile documents an IU-per-mg factor (pass `peptide`); otherwise the result is an iu_factor_missing issue, never an assumed factor. Pure arithmetic: not a dosing recommendation.

Parameterstorequiredfromrequiredamountrequiredpeptide

solution_concentration

Solution concentration

Concentration of an amount dissolved in a volume of liquid (amount ÷ volume), as mg/mL, mcg/mL and, with a peptide's documented factor, IU/mL. Pure arithmetic on the given numbers: it does not suggest amounts, volumes or how to prepare anything.

Parametersunitrequiredamountrequiredpeptidevolume_mlrequired

blend_concentrations

Blend concentrations

For several components dissolved together in one volume: each component's concentration and its share of the blend by amount. Arithmetic only; it says nothing about whether components can or should be combined.

Parametersvolume_mlrequiredcomponentsrequired

cost_per_amount

Cost per amount

Price arithmetic for a purchase: total cost (price plus optional shipping) and cost per mg, per mcg and (with a peptide's documented factor) per IU. Uses only the numbers given; it never estimates prices or shipping and converts no currencies.
