Overview

AI-generated overview

Samedoc translates PDFs and scans into another language while keeping the original layout, or converts them into editable Word files.

What you can do
  • Translate a PDF, scan or photo into another language, returning a PDF with layout, tables, logos and numbers preserved
  • Convert a PDF or scan into an editable Word (.docx) file that mirrors the original page design, without translation
  • Check the status of a translation or conversion job and get its download link
  • Get an upload page link for documents that cannot be passed directly as a file or https URL
When to use it
Useful when a user wants a document such as a payslip, official letter, bank statement, certificate or contract translated as a file, or wants a PDF or scan turned into an editable Word document.
Requirements
A remote MCP endpoint; no packages, environment variables or headers are declared. Documents are supplied as an attached file, an https file URL, or through an upload page link.
Before you install
Documents are sent to a third-party service for processing, so consider whether payslips, bank statements, certificates or contracts are appropriate to upload. Jobs are asynchronous and results are retrieved by job id and download link.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Samedoc: Translate PDF & PDF to Word in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/app.samedoc%2Fsamedoc/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

translate_document

Translate a document and keep its layout

Translates a PDF or a scanned document / photo of one into another language and returns the same document as a PDF: layout, tables, logos and every number kept and checked. For payslips, bank statements, official and government letters, birth and marriage certificates, diplomas, school reports, contracts, leases and forms, e.g. for a visa, immigration, a bank or a school. Strong on right-to-left sources (Hebrew, Arabic), which it can also mirror into a left-to-right layout. Use when the user says 'translate this PDF / document / scan', 'keep the formatting / layout', 'give me back the PDF', or when a translation in chat lost the tables or layout. Give the document as `file` (a file the user attached) or `file_url` (an https link). Up to 5 pages per document. Takes 30-90 seconds; if it takes longer, returns an id for get_translation.

convert_to_word

Convert a PDF or scan to an editable Word file

Turns a PDF or a scanned document / photo of one into an editable Word file (.docx) that looks like the original page: every line of text is editable in place, over the original design (tables, lines, logos, stamps and signatures kept exactly). Same language, no translation. Reads scans and broken PDF text, and keeps Hebrew and Arabic right-to-left. Use when the user says 'convert this PDF to Word / docx', 'make this PDF editable', 'I need to edit this form / scan', or when a Word file made in chat lost the logo, tables or layout. Give the document as `file` (a file the user attached) or `file_url` (an https link). Up to 5 pages per document. Takes 20-90 seconds; if it takes longer, returns an id for get_translation.

Parametersfilefile_url

get_translation

Get a translation or Word file

Returns the status and download link of a job started with translate_document or convert_to_word (use its id).
