Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote MCP server for looking up, comparing and tracking AI model API prices, with confidence levels and cited sources.

What you can do
  • Search the model catalogue and get current prices with confidence levels and sources
  • Get every price tier for one model, including reseller channel pricing
  • Compare several models side by side and view a model's price history over time
  • List recent price increases, decreases, additions and removals
  • List providers and inspect which data sources back the prices
  • Discover and run additional unlisted tools via keyword search, schema lookup and execution
When to use it
Useful when choosing between AI models or providers and you want current API pricing, side-by-side cost comparisons, or a record of price changes rather than stale figures from memory.
Requirements
Remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no sign-in, API key, environment variables or headers are declared. Network access to the hosted service is required.
Before you install
The server exposes a generic run_tool that executes tools not directly listed, so an assistant can invoke capabilities you have not reviewed; check a tool's schema first and confirm before anything destructive. Prices are third-party data with stated confidence levels, so verify against the cited sources before relying on them for billing decisions.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open SLXD AI API Pricing in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/app.slxd%2Faiapipricing/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Tools

search_models

Search models

Searches the catalogue of AI models and returns their current prices, with a confidence level and the sources backing each price.

Parameterslimitqueryprovider

get_model_price

Get a model's prices

Returns every current price for one model — input, output, cached reads, batch and priority tiers, context brackets — with the confidence level and which sources agree. By default these are the maker's own prices; pass `channel` to get what a reseller charges for the same model instead. Two dimensions can share a label, so the ones that would collide carry their qualifiers, e.g. 'Web search (context size: high)'.

Parametersmodelrequiredchannel

compare_models

Compare models

Returns the current prices of several models side by side. Amounts in credits are never converted to money, so a credit-billed model is not comparable to a token-billed one. Two dimensions can share a label, so the ones that would collide carry their qualifiers, e.g. 'Web search (context size: high)'.

Parametersmodelsrequired

price_history

Price history

Returns a model's price over time. Each point is [date, amount] with the date as YYYY-MM-DD. The series holds only the points where the price CHANGED — prices are step functions, so a stable model is one point, not one per day; when a price changed twice on one day, both points are returned with the same date, in order. One series per price dimension: two dimensions can share a label, so the ones that would collide carry their qualifiers, e.g. 'Web search (context size: high)'.

Parameterstofrommodelrequired

recent_changes

Recent price changes

Lists recent price increases, decreases, additions and removals across the catalogue, newest first.

Parametersdayslimit

list_providers

List providers

Lists every provider in the catalogue and how many models each has. These are the houses that MAKE the models: a reseller (Vertex, Bedrock, Azure, OpenRouter, a subscription plan) is a sales channel, not a provider — ask `get_model_price` with a `channel` for what one of those charges.

Takes no parameters.

data_sources

Data sources and their health

Explains where the prices come from: which sources are consulted, their weight and licence, when each last succeeded, and whether any is currently failing. Use this to judge how much to trust a price.

Takes no parameters.

find_tools

Find tools

Searches the full catalogue of available tools by keyword and returns the matching tool names with a short description. Use it when no directly-listed tool fits the task — many tools are available but not listed. Then call tool_schema for the one you picked, and run_tool to execute it.

Parametersqueryrequired

tool_schema

Get a tool's schema

Returns the full input schema of a single tool, including which arguments are required. Call it after find_tools and before run_tool.

Parametersnamerequired

run_tool

Run a tool

Executes a tool by name with the given arguments. Use it for tools that are not directly listed — look them up with find_tools and check their arguments with tool_schema first. Prefer a directly-listed tool whenever one fits. If the action is destructive, ask the user to confirm before calling it.

83% of the applicable checks met

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
