Overview

AI-generated overview

uCAD is a browser 3D CAD service: the assistant writes scripts in its small Python language, uCAD builds real-size models and returns reports and pictures.

What you can do
  • Read the language spec and reference examples before writing any script
  • Run a whole script on a drawing in the user's account and get the report, warnings, print output, errors with line numbers, and pictures
  • Inspect a drawing as it is now: pictures from requested sides, and its solids, objects, hand-drawn shapes and numbered script
  • List the drawings in the account, newest first, with ids, names, change times and links
  • Create a public share link for a drawing that anyone can open without an account
When to use it
Use it when the user wants a real-size 3D model or CAD drawing produced from a description, or wants an existing drawing in their uCAD account inspected, changed or shared.
Requirements
A remote endpoint at ucad.app over streamable HTTP, with a bearer key sent in the Authorization header (obtained by signing in to uCAD and using the assistant menu). A uCAD account is needed, since drawings live in it.
Before you install
The Authorization bearer key is a secret and grants access to the user's uCAD account and drawings. run_script writes to and keeps results in that account, and each run changes the drawing. share creates a link anyone can open, exposing the drawing (though not its script) to anyone with the link.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open uCAD in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect Authorization token credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/app.ucad%2Fucad/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

specs

uCAD script language

Call this FIRST in every session, before writing any uCAD script, even if you have notes or a skill about uCAD from before: the language (a small Python: every function, its arguments and the objects it returns, with the rules), how this service works, the reference examples, what is new. The language is at spec version ad65f6b97f now; a copy with another version is out of date.

Takes no parameters.

example

Read a reference example

The script of one of the reference examples listed by specs (by its id): a finished model built carefully in uCAD's language, to learn from before building something like it.

run_script

Build: run a uCAD script

Run a whole uCAD script on a drawing in the user's account (a new drawing when `drawing` is left out) and keep the result there. Returns the report (every solid with its size and place, warnings, print() output, or the error with its line), the drawing's id and link, and pictures of it. Each run replaces what the drawing's previous run made. The language is at spec version ad65f6b97f: if what you know of it is another version (or none), call specs first.

Look at a drawing

Pictures of a drawing as it is now (with anything the user changed by hand), from the sides asked for.

What a drawing holds

What is in a drawing now: its solids and objects with sizes and places, flat shapes drawn by hand, and its script with line numbers.

Parametersdrawing

share

A link anyone can open

A link to a drawing that anyone can open, with no uCAD account: they see the drawing as it is now (and as it changes later) in uCAD, and can turn it around, measure it, cut sections, download it and edit a copy of their own; its script isn't in it. Use it when the user wants to show or send the model to someone else, or post it: the drawing's own link (?d=) opens only for the user, signed in. Each drawing has one such link: asked again, share gives the same one.

Parametersactiondrawing

drawings

The account's drawings

The drawings kept in the user's uCAD account, newest first: id, name, when changed, link (and the link anyone can open, for those shared).

Takes no parameters.
