Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote MCP server for US government contracting data: bid search, award history, expiring contracts, forecasts, protests and exclusions.

What you can do
  • Search open and past government bid opportunities by keyword, state and buyer level
  • Look up federal award history and filter awards by recipient, agency, NAICS code or state, including single-bid awards
  • List federal contracts nearing expiration and agency procurement forecasts
  • Search GAO bid protest decisions and check SAM.gov exclusion (debarment) records
  • Map teaming relationships between primes and subcontractors from reported subcontract data
When to use it
Useful for bid and proposal research, competitive pricing, incumbent analysis, recompete planning, partner due diligence and checking whether a company is barred from federal contracts. Fits teams working on US federal, state or local procurement.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint at bidcatch.co; nothing to install. An optional Authorization header with a BidCatch intel key unlocks all eight tools and 300 calls per day; without it only free bid search with the top 5 results is available.
Before you install
The Authorization header carries a secret intel key; keep it private. Without the key, results are limited to five bid search results. Forecast entries are planning-grade and can be revised or cancelled, and exclusion matching relies on exact company name or UEI, so verify before acting. Queries go to a third-party service.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open BidCatch in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/co.bidcatch%2Fbidcatch/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Tools

8

search_bids

Search government bid opportunities (open and past) by keyword, state, and buyer level. Results are relevance-ranked; keyword matches in the title outrank passing mentions in the description.

Parameterstierqueryrequiredstateopen_only

get_award_history

Search federal contract award history — who won what, for how much, and when. Use it to size up incumbents, price work, or find buyers. Requires a BidCatch intel key.

Parameterssortqueryrequiredstate

get_recompete_radar

List federal contracts nearing expiration — each one a competition about to reopen. Filter by keyword, NAICS code, or state. Requires a BidCatch intel key.

Parametersnaicsquerystate

get_agency_forecast

List an agency's published procurement forecast — planned contract actions with estimated values and timelines, in the agency's own words. Planning-grade data; entries can be revised or cancelled. Requires a BidCatch intel key.

Parametersagencyrequired

get_protest_record

Search Government Accountability Office (GAO) bid protest decisions — who challenged an award, and whether the referee sustained or denied it. Requires a BidCatch intel key.

Parametersqueryrequired

check_exclusions

Check SAM.gov's exclusion (debarment) list for a company or person — entities the government has barred from receiving federal contracts or subcontracts. Run this before teaming with or subcontracting to anyone: one excluded partner can poison a bid. Match by exact company name or UEI; a state filter disambiguates common names. Records come from SAM.gov's published exclusions extract, refreshed weekly.

Parametersueinamestate

find_teaming_partners

Find who a company teams with on federal contracts — the primes it subcontracts for and the subcontractors under it. Built from prime-reported subcontract records (USAspending/FSRS): real reported relationships, not guesses. Use it before a recompete to map an incumbent's bench, or to find primes a subcontractor already works with. Requires a BidCatch intel key.

Parametersueirolecompany

search_awards

Filter federal contract awards by exact fields — recipient, awarding agency, NAICS code, state — instead of keyword search. Includes a single-bid filter for awards that drew exactly one offer. Use this when you know the slice you want; use get_award_history for topic/keyword search. Requires a BidCatch intel key.
