Overview

AI-generated overview

ClerkChat's hosted MCP server lets an assistant build and train AI support agents, connect channels, handle customer conversations and pull analytics.

What you can do
  • List workspaces and create, update, duplicate, archive or share AI support agents
  • Add and process knowledge sources from websites, text and uploaded documents
  • Connect and manage channels and integrations such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, Slack, Shopify, Stripe, Intercom and Zendesk
  • Read, reply to, draft, translate, assign and take over customer conversations
  • Create, enable and inspect automations and export their leads
  • Read deployment settings, widget embed code and workspace or agent analytics
When to use it
Useful when a business runs its customer support on ClerkChat and wants an assistant to set up and train agents, triage and answer conversations, manage lead automations or report on support performance without switching to the dashboard.
Requirements
A remote Streamable HTTP endpoint with OAuth 2.1 sign-in (dynamic client registration, PKCE) and scopes mcp:read, mcp:write and offline_access. A ClerkChat account is required, and you choose which workspaces the assistant may access during sign-in. No local install.
Before you install
The assistant can read and change live customer data: it can reply to customers, take over conversations, create or delete automations and connect channels. Channel and integration credentials such as API keys and bot tokens are accepted by tools, and Stripe integration setup is among the tools. Access is limited to approved workspaces and can be revoked from the ClerkChat dashboard.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open ClerkChat in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/co.clerkchat%2Fclerkchat/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

ClerkChat is an AI agent that answers a business's customers on WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Telegram, a website widget and a hosted help page, trained on the business's own website, files, Google Docs and Sheets, Notion pages and YouTube videos.

This MCP server lets your AI assistant work in your ClerkChat workspace for you: create and train agents, connect channels, read and reply to customer conversations, manage automations and leads, and pull analytics.

This repository holds documentation only. The server is hosted by ClerkChat; there is nothing to install or run.

Endpoint

TransportStreamable HTTP
AuthenticationOAuth 2.1 with dynamic client registration (PKCE)
Scopesmcp:read, mcp:write, offline_access
AccountA ClerkChat account (free plan available)

When you connect, ClerkChat asks you to sign in and choose which workspaces the assistant may access. You can change workspace access or revoke a client at any time from MCP in the ClerkChat dashboard.

Connect

Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop)

  1. Open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
  2. Name it ClerkChat and enter https://mcp.clerkchat.co/mcp.
  3. Connect, sign in to ClerkChat, choose your workspaces and approve.

Claude Code

bash
claude mcp add --transport http clerkchat https://mcp.clerkchat.co/mcp

Then run /mcp in Claude Code to sign in.

ChatGPT

In ChatGPT, add a custom MCP connector (developer mode) with the URL https://mcp.clerkchat.co/mcp and OAuth authentication, then sign in and approve your workspaces.

Cursor

Add to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or .cursor/mcp.json in a project):

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "clerkchat": {      "url": "https://mcp.clerkchat.co/mcp"    }  }}

Cursor opens the ClerkChat sign-in the first time a tool is used.

Other MCP clients

Any client that supports remote Streamable HTTP servers with OAuth can connect to https://mcp.clerkchat.co/mcp. The server publishes discovery metadata at /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/mcp.

Try it

  • "List the agents in my ClerkChat workspace."
  • "Create a support agent called Store support and train it on https://example.com."
  • "Add this PDF to Store support." (attach the file)
  • "Show me unread WhatsApp conversations from today and draft replies."
  • "Take over the conversation with Sarah and reply that her order ships tomorrow."
  • "Export this week's leads from the Collect Leads automation."
  • "How many conversations did each agent handle in the last 30 days?"

Permissions and safety

  • The assistant can only reach the workspaces you approve, with the role and plan you already have in each.
  • Write tools take idempotency keys, so a retried request is not applied twice.
  • Secrets such as API keys and bot tokens are accepted but never returned in tool output.
  • Revoke a client or remove a workspace from MCP in the ClerkChat dashboard. Access stops on the next tool call.

This server asks you to sign in, so SourceWeft could not read its tools without an account and has not indexed them. What a connected account sees can depend on that account and its permissions.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
