Overview

AI-generated overview

Sets up, signs, publishes and verifies Semanto, a company's signed website copy that AI agents can read and check.

What you can do
  • Check identity and setup state, and read the guide for the setup order
  • Read the website again and list pages changed since the last read
  • Review the company's facts, choose Basic or the full signed copy, confirm and sign/publish
  • List published versions with their state, and read a page as markdown or the signed facts as JSON-LD
  • Get install instructions, check the site, and verify a page against the current signed version
  • List receipts showing who read the signed copy
When to use it
Use it when a company wants an agent to run the Semanto setup end to end: prove the domain, read the site, review and sign the facts, publish, install on the site and check the result. Also useful for reading or verifying an existing signed copy.
Requirements
A remote endpoint at api.trooth.co over streamable HTTP. Most tools need an agent key (tsk_) sent as an Authorization bearer header, created in the Trooth dashboard under Company; some tools work without a key. Domain proof uses the Trooth Network MCP server's domain tools plus the DNS host's own API, and site install may need the hosting provider's API.
Before you install
The Authorization header carries a secret agent key; keep it scoped and revoke it when no longer needed. Signing and publishing change what the company publicly states, and install steps modify the company's site. Some actions (erasing, creating agent keys, disabling two-officer signing, approving an app) are reserved for a person on trooth.co, and others wait for the person's approval. Published versions and read receipts are public.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Semanto by Trooth in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/co.trooth%2Fsemanto/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config.

README

Semanto by Trooth

[PyPI version]

Semanto turns a company's website into one signed copy that AI agents can read and check. Each page carries a signature from the company's own key, and every published version is entered in a public log, so anyone can confirm what a company said and when it said it.

This repository holds the open readers for Python, JavaScript and Go with their shared test vectors, and the Cloudflare adapter a company deploys on its own domain. The Semanto service itself is Trooth's and is not here.

Documentation

The documentation is at trooth.co/docs/semanto, with install guides for Cloudflare, Vercel, Netlify, Fastly, Akamai, Gcore, nginx, Apache, WordPress, Shopify, Webflow and Squarespace.

Readers

ReaderPathInstall
Pythonverifier/pythonpip install trooth
JavaScriptverifier/jsCopy verify.mjs; Node 20 or newer, no dependencies

All three share the same functions, reason codes and the vectors in verifier/test-vectors/v1.

Check a signed URL

Checks a page against the current signed version. With no hash, Trooth fetches the page as an agent does (Accept: text/markdown) and hashes what it is served, which is what semanto_install_check checks too; compared says which. status: matches, differs (hash is what was found, signed_hash what was signed), not_served (the page did not answer with markdown), unknown_url or not_signed. No key needed.
