Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote MCP server that turns a public MP3 or WAV audio URL into a transcript, language detection, timestamped segments, or SRT/VTT subtitles, billed per minute.

What you can do
  • Transcribe a public MP3 or WAV audio file (up to 30 minutes) into text, with detected language and timestamped segments
  • Return subtitles in SRT or VTT format, or translate the speech into English
  • Get an exact x402 price quote for a file by calling the tool without payment, then pay per call
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs to convert a hosted audio recording into text or subtitle files without running its own speech-to-text model, and when per-minute pay-as-you-go billing is acceptable.
Requirements
A remote MCP endpoint over streamable HTTP; no local package or runtime. Audio must be reachable at a public MP3 or WAV URL, up to 30 minutes. Payment is required: an x402 payment passed in the call metadata or a prepaid credits key. No free tier.
Before you install
Every call costs money: $0.003 per started audio minute with a one-minute minimum, and there is no free tier. Payment credentials (x402 payment payload or a prepaid credits key) are sent with the request. The audio URL is handed to a third-party service, so avoid linking private or sensitive recordings.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Transcribe (speech-to-text) in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/co.youraitools%2Ftranscribe/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Transcribe audio (speech-to-text)

Speech-to-text for a public MP3 or WAV file (audio_url, up to 30 minutes): transcript, detected language, timestamped segments and optional SRT/VTT subtitles (format=srt|vtt); task=translate returns English. Paid only, no free tier: $0.003 per started audio minute (minimum 1). Call without payment to get the exact quote for your file (x402 payment terms); then retry with params._meta["x402/payment"] or a prepaid credits key (Authorization: Bearer yatc_...). Charged only when a transcript is returned. Not for m4a, ogg, flac or webm (convert to MP3 or WAV first).
