17NAS Network Tools
com.17nasPublished by 17nas.comv1.0.3Updated Oct 30, 2026
Free network diagnostic tools: IP info, DNS lookup, IPv6 check. No API key.
Overview
A local MCP server offering free network diagnostics: public IP info, DNS record lookups, and IPv6 reachability checks.
- What you can do
- Look up public IP details: address, IPv4/IPv6 protocol, country, ASN and location
- Query DNS records (A, AAAA, MX, TXT, NS, CNAME) over DNS-over-HTTPS
- Check IPv6 reachability by resolving AAAA records and testing TCP connectivity over IPv6 versus IPv4
- When to use it
- Useful when you want an assistant to answer quick networking questions during a session — checking what IP a host resolves to, inspecting DNS records, or verifying whether a host is reachable over IPv6.
- Requirements
- Runs as a local process over stdio, installed from the npm package 17nas-mcp-server (Node.js runtime). No API key or environment variables are declared. Network access is needed for the IP info API and DNS-over-HTTPS queries. Desktop client only.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open 17NAS Network Tools in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

Score
40% of the applicable checks met
How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
- Reached in the last 30 days25 pts
Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.
- Auth declared10 pts
Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
- Tools listed15 pts
Answer tools/list without a credential, or ship a package that starts in a sandbox without one.
