Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote MCP server that gives an assistant official AI model deprecation and shutdown dates, replacements, change feeds and alerts across 8 providers.

What you can do
  • Look up the official shutdown date, replacement and source for a specific AI model ID
  • List upcoming model shutdowns within a chosen number of days, soonest first
  • Search all tracked models by name, including retired ones, and list every tracked model for a provider
  • Poll a change feed for records whose status, dates, replacement or source changed since a given time
  • Subscribe to webhook or email alerts on deprecation changes, and unsubscribe with a returned token
  • Check per-provider coverage, including rows without a vendor date and pages that could not be read
When to use it
Useful when an assistant helps plan model migrations, audits which models in a stack are being retired, or needs to warn about imminent shutdowns and replacements. Also suited to ongoing monitoring through the change feed or alerts.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no package, environment variable or header is declared. No authentication is declared. Subscribing to alerts requires a public https webhook URL or an email address.
Before you install
The server states its data is CC BY 4.0 and asks that each record be confirmed on its source page, so treat dates as pointers rather than final authority. Subscribing sends a webhook URL or email address to the provider and triggers a JSON POST to that URL on every change; email alerts use double opt-in. Coverage data can show rows without a vendor date or pages that could not be read.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open AI Deprecations in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.aideprecations%2Fai-deprecations/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

get_shutdown_date

Get the official deprecation/shutdown date, replacement and source for an AI model ID (e.g. gpt-4o-2024-08-06, claude-sonnet-4-5).

Parametersmodelrequiredprovider

list_upcoming

List AI model shutdowns in the next N days, soonest first.

Parametersdaysprovider

search_models

Search all tracked AI models (including retired) by name.

Parameterslimitqueryrequired

get_provider

All tracked models for one provider (openai, anthropic, google-gemini, google-vertex, azure-openai, aws-bedrock, mistral, cohere).

Parametersproviderrequired

get_changes_since

List tracked AI model records whose status, deprecation/shutdown date, replacement or source changed since an ISO 8601 time. Poll this to stay current: on later calls pass the previous response's checked_at. History starts at tracking_since; an earlier since returns a warning (count 0 then does not mean nothing changed).

Parameterssincerequiredprovider

subscribe_alerts

Subscribe to deprecation/shutdown change alerts. Give a public https webhook URL (JSON POST on every change, checked daily) or an email (double opt-in newsletter + alerts). Optional providers filter. Returns an unsubscribe token for webhooks.

Parametersemailwebhookproviders

unsubscribe

Stop webhook alerts using the token from subscribe_alerts. Email subscribers unsubscribe from the link in any email.

Parameterstokenrequired

get_coverage

Per-provider coverage today: rows with a known shutdown date, rows where the vendor page gives no date, rows not verified today, and official pages that could not be read today. Also returns manual source reviews (a person checking a page the parser could not read; empty until one is recorded) and the replacement_kind rule.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
