Overview

AI-generated overview

ApexTick gives an assistant market data for global equities, ETFs, FX pairs and crypto: quotes, price history, fundamentals, technicals, options Greeks and…

What you can do
  • Look up symbols and instruments across equities, ETFs, FX, indices and crypto
  • Fetch spot quotes and batched watchlist tables for up to 20 symbols
  • Retrieve historical OHLCV bars across timeframes plus earnings and corporate event calendars
  • Get valuation snapshots and technical or catalyst explanations for a single ticker
  • Inspect option chains, expirations, contract bars and Black-Scholes Greeks
  • Screen the market for gainers, losers, volume leaders and high implied-volatility underlyings
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs live or historical market data, valuation and technical context, or options analytics while researching tickers, checking a watchlist, or discovering candidates across markets.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint at api.apextick.com, or a local Node.js stdio server. An ApexTick API key is required, sent as the apikey header for the hosted endpoint or as the APEXTICK_API_KEY environment variable locally. A free Hobbyist key is available; some tools are listed as paid tiers.
Before you install
The API key is a secret and should be kept out of shared configs and logs. Several tools are marked as paid tiers (Trader Pro+, Quant & Community+), so usage may require a paid plan beyond the free daily request limit. Data is market information only, not investment advice.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open ApexTick Market Data & Options MCP in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.apextick%2Fmcp/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Tools

8

analyze_ticker

Analyze ticker

Fundamental valuation snapshot for a single ticker: company valuation multiples (market cap, TTM revenue, P/E, P/B, P/S, EPS, ROE, dividend yield) alongside session range positioning and 52-week high distance. Use for fundamental valuation analysis; does not fetch technical indicators, earnings dates or option chains.

Parameterssymbolrequired

explain_price_move

Explain price move

Technical and catalyst attribution for why a single ticker moved today: technical indicators (RSI-14, SMA-20/50/200, MACD, ATR-14, 30-day volatility), gap/range vs ATR signals and recent/upcoming earnings surprises. Use for technical and catalyst analysis; does not fetch fundamental valuation multiples or option chains.

Parameterssymbolrequired

get_options_chain

Get options chain

Option chain, expiration dates, historical option contract bars, and Black-Scholes Greeks lookup for a single underlying ticker: returns available expiration dates and liquid call/put contracts with strike, bid, ask, implied volatility, volume, open interest and Greeks (delta, gamma, theta, vega, rho). When strike is also provided (with expiration and option_type call/put), returns historical daily OHLCV, open interest, implied volatility and Black-Scholes Greeks for that active or expired option contract.

Parameterstofromlimitstrikesymbolrequiredexpirationoption_type

get_price_history

Get price history

Historical OHLCV time-series bars and corporate event calendar for a single ticker: returns open, high, low, close, volume and period return across configurable timeframes (1m, 5m, 15m, 30m, 1h, 1d, 1wk, 1mo) and date ranges (from, to), plus optional earnings calendar (upcoming and historical EPS estimates vs actuals), dividends and stock splits. Use for historical charts, backtesting and corporate event lookup; for the current spot tick only, use get_quote.

Parameterstofromlimitsymbolrequiredresolutioninclude_events

get_quote

Get quote

Spot price tick for a single ticker: latest price, session change, % change, volume and timestamp. Use when only the current price tick is needed; for historical OHLCV bars use get_price_history, and for valuation multiples use analyze_ticker.

Parameterssymbolrequired

get_watchlist_brief

Watchlist brief

Multi-ticker batch comparison table for 1 to 20 symbols in a single request, returning a compact Markdown table (price, change, % change, day range, volume) and market breadth summary. Use for multi-symbol portfolio or watchlist checks rather than single-ticker deep dives.

Parameterssymbolsrequired

screen_market

Screen market

Cross-market discovery screener returning top gainers, top losers, volume leaders (with optional GICS sector and min_market_cap filters for equities) and highest implied-volatility option underlyings. Use to discover candidate tickers across the market; to inspect a specific symbol's option chain, expirations and Greeks, use get_options_chain.

Parameterslimitmetricsectorasset_classmin_market_cap

search_tickers

Search tickers

Symbol and instrument directory search across 66,400+ global equities, ETFs, FX pairs, indices and cryptocurrencies by company name or ticker symbol. Use to resolve unknown ticker symbols before calling per-ticker tools; does not fetch live prices or financial metrics.
