Overview

AI-generated overview

BlockReq's remote MCP server lets an assistant browse BlockReq docs and network catalogs and make read-only JSON-RPC calls across EVM chains.

What you can do
List and inspect BlockReq networks, including host, trial and private URL patterns, WSS support and capability flags, plus documented JSON-RPC methods per EVM network and method reference details from the OpenRPC document. Search BlockReq documentation and read individual pages as Markdown. Call one read-only JSON-RPC method on an EVM network, using the public trial endpoint or the caller's own endpoint when a BlockReq API key is supplied.
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs to look up BlockReq endpoints, plans or setup docs, check which JSON-RPC methods a network supports, or run quick read-only chain queries without writing a client.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no local runtime or package. An optional Authorization header carrying a Bearer BlockReq API key switches from the public trial to your own endpoint. Network access to the BlockReq endpoint is required.
Before you install
The Authorization header carries a BlockReq API key; keep it private. Without a key, calls go to a rate-limited public trial with recent state only; with a key, usage is metered to your BlockReq account. Only read-only JSON-RPC methods are offered, but queries and docs requests go to BlockReq's servers.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open BlockReq in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.blockreq%2Frpc/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

list_chains

List BlockReq networks

List every published BlockReq network with its host, public trial URL, private URL pattern ({API_KEY} placeholder), WSS support, and archive and proof/debug/trace flags.

Parametersnetwork_type

get_chain

Get one BlockReq network

Get one network's URLs and capability flags, its API reference page, and (for EVM networks) the JSON-RPC methods documented for it.

Parameterschainrequired

search_docs

Search BlockReq docs

Search the BlockReq docs (setup, API keys, endpoints, Request Counting, plans, networks, support). Returns page titles, URLs, Markdown URLs for get_doc_page, and snippets. Chinese queries search the Chinese pages.

Parameterslimitqueryrequiredlocale

get_doc_page

Read a BlockReq docs page

Read one BlockReq docs page as Markdown. Accepts a https://blockreq.com/docs/... URL (HTML or index.md) or a path such as /docs/getting-started/.

Parametersurlrequired

get_method_reference

Get a JSON-RPC method reference

Get the documented parameters, result, example, and endpoints of one JSON-RPC method on one EVM network, from BlockReq's OpenRPC document.

Parameterschainrequiredmethodrequired

call_rpc

Call a read-only JSON-RPC method

Call one read-only JSON-RPC method on an EVM network. Without credentials it uses the public trial endpoint (rate-limited, recent state only); when this MCP connection sends a BlockReq API key or is signed in to a BlockReq account, it uses the caller's own endpoint, metered to their account with their plan's limits and history. eth_getLogs needs numeric fromBlock/toBlock at most 1000 blocks apart, or a blockHash. Responses above 256 KB are refused. It cannot sign or send transactions.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
