Overview

AI-generated overview

Booksmate connects an assistant to your Booksmate account to search, summarize, analyze and export invoices and receipts gathered from email and supplier…

What you can do
  • Find and inspect invoices and receipts by vendor, date, amount or status
  • Analyze spend totals and trends by category, vendor, month or document type
  • Upload PDFs, images and office files for AI field extraction
  • Detect duplicate payments by comparing vendor, amount and currency
  • Pull documents from connected Gmail and Microsoft mailboxes
  • Export documents to Xero or Google Drive, and bundle them into a ZIP with a signed download link
When to use it
Useful when you want to ask about your own invoice and receipt archive in chat, for example last month's invoices, quarterly software spend by vendor, or duplicate payments, and when you want extracted documents pushed to Xero or Google Drive.
Requirements
A Booksmate account (sign up first if you have none). The server is a hosted remote endpoint over streamable HTTP; no API key is used. Authentication is OAuth 2.1 with dynamic client registration, so the first tool call opens a browser consent screen. Supplier portal fetching requires the Booksmate desktop app.
Before you install
The assistant can read your financial documents and connected mailbox data, and can trigger imports from Gmail and Microsoft mailboxes. It can also export documents to Xero or Google Drive and create signed download links, which share files outside the account. Access can be revoked in Booksmate account settings.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Booksmate in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.booksmate%2Fbooksmate/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

README

Booksmate

Fetch invoices and receipts from email and supplier portals, then work them in chat.

Booksmate pulls documents from connected Gmail and Microsoft mailboxes, and from supplier web portals via the Booksmate desktop app. It extracts fields with AI and exports to Xero or Google Drive. This plugin connects an agent to your account through the hosted MCP server at mcp.booksmate.com. Email ingestion runs here. Web portal fetching stays on the desktop app. Ask for last month's Amazon invoices and you get the real rows out of your account, not a guess.

Install

Cursor

Open the Cursor Marketplace and search for "Booksmate", then click install. You can also open Customize and search there.

The plugin ships an mcp.json pointing at the hosted server. Cursor picks it up automatically. There is nothing to configure.

Grok Bot

Add the server URL https://mcp.booksmate.com as an MCP connector. The skills in this repo are plain skills/*/SKILL.md files, so any agent that reads skill directories can use them alongside the connector.

Claude Code

Clone https://github.com/odwyersoftware/booksmate-plugins and start Claude Code with claude --plugin-dir booksmate-plugins/claude.

That flag loads the claude/ directory for the session. It ships a .mcp.json pointing at the hosted server over streamable HTTP. The server entry sets "type": "http", which Claude Code requires on a URL. There is nothing else to configure.

Any other MCP client

Point the client at https://mcp.booksmate.com. The transport is streamable HTTP.

There is no API key. Authentication is OAuth 2.1 with dynamic client registration, so the first tool call opens a browser for consent. Approve it once and the client holds the token from then on. If you have no Booksmate account yet, sign up at booksmate.com first.

Revoke access any time from your Booksmate account settings.

What you can ask for

  • Show my invoices from last month.
  • What did I spend on software this quarter, broken down by vendor?
  • Find any duplicate payments over 500 in the last 90 days.
  • Upload this receipt PDF and pull out the vendor and total.
  • Import my latest receipts from Gmail.
  • Export everything unexported to Xero.
  • Zip up my Q1 invoices and give me a download link for my accountant.

Seven skills teach the agent how to drive the tools well.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
