Verifies email addresses for deliverability — single checks, bulk jobs, and credit balance — with a plain-English reason for each result.
What you can do
Verify a single address for syntax, DNS/MX, SMTP mailbox, disposable, role and catch-all status, with a confidence score
Queue lists for asynchronous bulk verification, poll job status and results, list recent jobs, and cancel jobs to release reserved credits
Check credit balance and lifetime usage
Run a keyless demo check limited to format, typos, throwaway domains and MX records
Create an agent account to obtain an API key with free credits, and fetch machine-readable API discovery URLs
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs to clean or screen email lists before outreach, or check a single address before sending, and when you want bulk verification with job tracking and credit accounting.
Requirements
Remote endpoint or the npm package over stdio. An API key in the X-API-Key header or the BOUNCELAYER_API_KEY environment variable; without one, create_agent_account issues a key with a few free credits. Network access to the BounceLayer API.
Before you install
Verification consumes credits: billable results cost 1 credit each, including cache hits, and bulk jobs reserve credits up front. create_agent_account issues a live API key without human signup, and the returned claim_url should be given to the account owner to claim. Email addresses you submit are sent to a third-party service, and bulk jobs can post results to a webhook_url you supply.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.bouncelayer%2Fmcp/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
Verify a single email's deliverability (syntax, DNS/MX, SMTP mailbox,
disposable / role / catch-all detection, confidence score).
Costs 1 credit for a billable result (valid/invalid/catch_all/disposable/do_not_mail),
whether fresh or served from cache. `unknown` results are free. Requires an
API key. Returns {success, credits_used, result}.
Parametersemailrequired
submit_bulk_verification
Submit a bulk verification job
Queue a list of emails for asynchronous verification. Reserves up to N
credits (final charge settles on completion). Poll get_bulk_job for status
and results. Optionally provide webhook_url for a completion callback.
Requires an API key. Returns {job_id, status, total_emails, credits_reserved}.
Parametersemailsrequiredwebhook_url
get_bulk_job
Get a bulk job's status and results
Get the status, progress, and (when complete) results of a bulk job by
its job_id. Requires an API key.
Parametersjob_idrequired
list_bulk_jobs
List your bulk jobs
List your recent bulk verification jobs (paginated, newest first).
Optionally filter by status. Requires an API key.
Parameterspagestatuspage_size
cancel_bulk_job
Cancel a bulk job
Cancel a pending or processing bulk job and release any reserved credits.
Requires an API key.
Parametersjob_idrequired
get_credit_balance
Get your credit balance
Return your current credit balance and lifetime usage. Requires an API key.
Takes no parameters.
verify_email_demo
Demo email validation (no API key)
Check one email WITHOUT an API key: format, common typos, throwaway
domains, role and free-provider addresses, and whether the domain has mail
servers (MX). It never contacts the mailbox, so a good address comes back
"unknown", not "valid"; use verify_email for a real answer. Limited per IP.
Returns {success, credits_used: 0, result}.
Parametersemailrequired
create_agent_account
Create an agent account and API key
Get your own BounceLayer API key without a person signing up first.
No API key needed. Returns an API key with a few free credits and a
claim_url. Use the key in the 'X-API-Key' header (reconnect this MCP
server with it). Give claim_url to the person you work for: when they
open it and set an email and password, the account becomes theirs and gets
the full free monthly checks. The key and claim link are shown only once.
Limited per network and site-wide.
Parameterslabel
get_api_discovery
Get BounceLayer discovery URLs
Return BounceLayer's machine-readable discovery URLs (OpenAPI, docs,
auth.md, well-known metadata). No API key required.
Takes no parameters.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
