Figma MCP server and plugin: AI agents read and edit live Figma files, no Figma API token.
Overview
Figma MCP server plus plugin that lets AI agents read and edit live Figma files without a Figma API token.
- What you can do
- Read and edit live Figma files through 102 MCP tools, without a Figma API token or Dev seat.
- Work on several Figma files at once, with one agent per file.
- Track changes in sessions and roll back what an agent changed.
- Build App Store and Google Play screenshot sets in Figma from your app's real screens.
- When to use it
- Useful when you want an AI client such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, VS Code, Gemini CLI or Windsurf to inspect and modify real Figma designs, or to generate app store screenshot sets from existing screens.
- Requirements
- Runs as a local process on a desktop machine (macOS, Linux or Windows). Requires installing the Canvashand command line tool, connecting AI clients with its setup command, and importing the Canvashand plugin in Figma. A paid plan is needed beyond the free monthly call allowance.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Canvashand in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
