Look up AI-visibility and GEO tools: price, AI engines covered, limits and a source for each fact.

Overview

AI-generated overview

Search and read CitedIndex's directory of AI-visibility and GEO tools, compare them, and submit listings or buyer enquiries.

What you can do
Provides full-text search over published tool listings and returns compact records, plus a full answer-first markdown sheet for any single tool with each question, the vendor's wording and a proving URL. It also lists categories with live counts, compares two tools side by side on pricing, API availability and tags, and returns ranked best-of lists per category. Write-side tools let an account submit a tool by URL, read its own listings' status, send a buyer-intent lead, and subscribe to the newsletter.
When to use it
Use it when an assistant needs to research AI-visibility or GEO tools, check pricing and coverage, or produce a sourced comparison or category shortlist. It also fits workflows where an account wants to submit a tool, track its review status, or pass a buyer enquiry to a vendor or category.
Requirements
Remote streamable HTTP endpoint at citedindex.com; no local runtime or package. Search, read, compare, best-of, lead and newsletter tools need no key. submit_listing and my_listings need a signed-in account with verified email, supplied as a session Cookie header or an agent key in the Authorization header.
Before you install
submit_listing and my_listings require account credentials (session cookie or agent key) that grant access to the account's listings. send_lead sends a real name, permanent email and message to a third-party vendor or category and requires consent; it is idempotent per email and target. subscribe_newsletter sends a confirmation mail to the given address. Paid placement options (express, featured) are referenced in listing status.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open CitedIndex in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.citedindex%2Fmcp/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Parameterslimitqueryrequired

get_listing

Get one listing

One tool in full, as answer-first markdown: the summary, then every question on the sheet with its answer, the vendor's own words for it and the URL that proves it. Identical to /{slug}.md and to the HTML page.

Parametersslugrequired

list_categories

List categories

CitedIndex's categories with their live listing counts, 0 for one with none yet.

Takes no parameters.

compare_listings

Compare two listings

Two tools side by side, as markdown: taglines, pricing, API availability, tags — the researched compare facts, honest about unknowns.

Parametersarequiredbrequired

get_best_of

Best of a category

The Published tools in one category, in the order its category page prints (ranked by what we can confirm: a public price, an API and docs, independent sources, stated limits), as a markdown answer sheet. Payment never moves a row.

Parameterscategoryrequired

submit_listing

Submit a listing

Submit a tool to CitedIndex: the url alone; we write its name and description from its own pages. Requires an existing signed-in account with verified email; send its session Cookie header on the MCP request, or an agent key the account made at https://citedindex.com/dashboard/agents as Authorization: Bearer. Identity and email come only from that session or key. Sign in or explicitly create an account at https://citedindex.com/login?next=%2Fsubmit and verify its email before retrying. This tool creates no account and sends no verification email. Returns {httpStatus:201, id, slug, status:'Draft'}; research + the quality gate decide publication. Your own (url, session email) replay within 24h returns httpStatus:200. The fit check starts at once and usually answers within a minute: poll GET https://citedindex.com/api/submissions/{id} and wait the Retry-After seconds it sends while fit is "checking". fit then reads "accepted" (it goes live, and the account is mailed), "rejected" (mailed with the reason) or "undecided" (a person looks within 2 days). No session: {httpStatus:401, error:'sign_in_required', message, loginUrl}. Unverified session: {httpStatus:403, error:'email_unverified', message, email, remediation}. Company gate: the account's address, or an address it proved with a code, must be on the submitted website's domain; otherwise {httpStatus:403, error:'domain_unverified', message, domain, remediation} — POST /api/domain-proof/start {url, email} mails a 6-digit code to an address at that domain, POST /api/domain-proof/verify {proofId, code} redeems it, then submit again. Personal mailboxes (gmail, outlook…) never prove a domain. No refusal creates a listing. Validation returns 400; duplicate/claim responses return 409. Read tools remain keyless.

Parametersurlrequired

send_lead

Send a lead

Send a buyer-intent enquiry (lead) to a tool or a whole category on CitedIndex. Keyless. Requires consent:true, a real name, a permanent (non-disposable) email, a message of at least 20 chars, and a target (listingSlug OR categorySlug). Returns { ok, delivered }. Idempotent by (email, target) within 7 days. Nothing here changes a listing's rank, tier or copy.

my_listings

Read your listings

What the CitedIndex owner dashboard shows about the listings an account owns: each one's status (`status.kind`: review with the expected date, accepted with `liveOn` and `paid` ('express' | 'featured' | null: the paid way that releases it, Featured including Express review), live, refused with the reason, or archived), the listing as it shows, 30 days of real numbers with the 30 before, where AI answers named the product or cited its page, and what it can buy here at this site's prices. Only for the account itself: send its session Cookie header, or its agent key with "Read your listings" as Authorization: Bearer. Same answer as GET https://citedindex.com/api/owner/listings. Read-only: corrections go through the dashboard's request form.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
