CookieInspector

Check what a site's cookie banner really blocks: CMP, trackers, cookies before consent.

Overview

AI-generated overview

CookieInspector scans websites with a real browser to report cookie-banner behaviour, pre-consent cookies and trackers, and consent-platform findings.

What you can do
  • Start and track scans: launch a full browser scan of up to five pages, check status, and list recent scans on the account
  • Read scan results: risk score, verdict, banner and consent platform, cookie and tracker counts, top issues and report link
  • Review findings: list findings with severity, affected resource and recommendation, and explain finding codes or consent platforms offline
  • Run quick pre-scans: anonymous header-and-HTML check of a public home page with pre-consent cookie and tracker counts
  • Check capabilities: see what is inspected, which tools need an API key, and the quotas
When to use it
Useful when you need to audit a site's cookie banner and pre-consent tracking, compare consent platforms, or explain a CookieInspector finding code without leaving the assistant.
Requirements
Remote HTTP endpoint; no packages or environment variables declared. Account-scoped tools need a CookieInspector API key, while the anonymous pre-scan and finding explanations work without an account. Scans consume the plan's monthly quota.
Before you install
Full scans run against the connected account and use the plan's monthly scans, so repeated calls can exhaust quota. Results are technical findings, not legal advice. Scans fetch third-party public websites on your behalf.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open CookieInspector in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.cookieinspector%2Fcookieinspector/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

get_prescan_result

Pre-scan result

Optional region: main (US East), us-west, eu-de (Germany, for EU-targeted banners). Uses the plan's monthly scans. Returns a scanId to poll with get_scan_status, then get_scan_summary. Technical findings, not legal advice.
