Overview

AI-generated overview

Cashly is a hosted personal finance MCP server that lets an assistant log expenses and income and track debts, EMIs, subscriptions and bills.

What you can do
  • Log, list, update and delete transactions, with categories, payment methods and spending stats
  • Manage debts lent and borrowed, including recording payments, settling and adding to a debt
  • Create and maintain banks, credit cards, debit cards and wallets, and read balances
  • Track EMIs and loans, subscriptions and upcoming bills, and record or skip payments
  • Manage webhooks and read account, usage, billing and connected-app details
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to record spending or income as it happens, answer questions about this month's spending versus last month, or show which bills and EMIs are due soon, all against your own Cashly account.
Requirements
Remote Streamable HTTP endpoint hosted by Corenexis; nothing to install. Requires a Cashly account and either OAuth sign-in and approval or an API key sent in the x-api-key header. API, MCP and webhook access are part of the paid Pro and Pro Plus plans.
Before you install
The server can create, update and delete your financial records, so prefer a read-only key or the read-only OAuth option unless writes are needed. API keys are credentials and should be revocable; up to 5 per account. Recording a payment only updates the tracker and moves no real money. Your finance data is stored with the hosted provider.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Cashly in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.corenexis%2Fcashly/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

[Cashly - expense, EMI and debt tracker]

What is Cashly?

Cashly is a free personal finance app for Android and the web, used worldwide in any currency and time zone. It tracks expenses and income, real balances for banks, cards and wallets, EMIs and loans, money lent and borrowed, and bills before they are due. It never asks for a bank login, never reads SMS and has no ads.

This repository is the public home of Cashly's developer surface:

MCP serverhttps://cashly.corenexis.com/api/mcp - remote, Streamable HTTP, OAuth 2.1 or API key
REST APIhttps://cashly.corenexis.com/api/v1 - JSON, x-api-key header
WebhooksSigned event deliveries for every create, update and delete
n8nCommunity node @corenexis/n8n-nodes-cashly
Registry namecom.corenexis/cashly on the Official MCP Registry

The server is hosted by Corenexis. There is nothing to install or run: point your client at the URL.

What you can do with it

Ask an assistant things like:

  • "Add 450 for groceries paid by UPI today."
  • "How much did I spend on food this month compared with last month?"
  • "Which bills are due in the next 7 days?"
  • "Record this month's car loan EMI as paid."
  • "Who owes me money, and how much is left on each?"
  • "Create a credit card called Travel Card with a 2,00,000 limit."

Every action works on the signed-in user's own data, and nothing moves real money: recording a payment only updates the tracker.

Quick start

1. Get access

  • ChatGPT and other OAuth clients: no key needed. You sign in to Cashly and approve access.
  • Everything else: create an API key in Cashly under Settings -> Developer -> API keys. Keys look like cn_cashly_... and can be read and write or read only. Up to 5 keys per account.

API, MCP and webhook access are part of the Cashly Pro and Pro Plus plans.

2. Connect your client

ChatGPT (OAuth, no key)
  1. ChatGPT -> Settings -> Apps (Connectors) -> Advanced, turn on Developer mode.
  2. Create app (add a custom MCP server):
    • Name: Cashly
    • Server URL: https://cashly.corenexis.com/api/mcp
    • Authentication: OAuth (leave client ID and secret empty - ChatGPT registers itself)
  3. Press Connect, sign in to Cashly and press Allow. Tick Read only if ChatGPT should only look.
Claude Code
bash
claude mcp add --transport http cashly https://cashly.corenexis.com/api/mcp \ --header "x-api-key: cn_cashly_your_key_here"
Claude Desktop

Add this to claude_desktop_config.json (see examples/claude_desktop_config.json):

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "cashly": {      "command": "npx",      "args": [        "-y", "mcp-remote", "https://cashly.corenexis.com/api/mcp",        "--header", "x-api-key:cn_cashly_your_key_here"      ]    }  }}
Cursor, VS Code and other MCP clients

Any client that supports remote Streamable HTTP servers can connect with:

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "cashly": {      "url": "https://cashly.corenexis.com/api/mcp",      "headers": { "x-api-key": "cn_cashly_your_key_here" }    }  }}
n8n
  • Workflows: install the community node @corenexis/n8n-nodes-cashly (Settings -> Community nodes). It has every Cashly action plus an instant webhook trigger.
  • AI Agent: add an MCP Client node (or the MCP Client Tool inside an AI Agent node), transport HTTP Streamable, endpoint https://cashly.corenexis.com/api/mcp, header x-api-key with your key.
curl / any HTTP client
bash
# List the toolscurl -X POST https://cashly.corenexis.com/api/mcp \ -H "x-api-key: cn_cashly_your_key_here" \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -H "Accept: application/json, text/event-stream" \ -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/list"}'
