Serves published UK police street-crime figures by postcode district, with page links and citations, so an assistant can look up and explain local crime counts.
What you can do
Look up published street-crime figures for a UK postcode district, with 12-month totals, monthly series, categories and the covering police force
Look up records in the fixed 0.5 km circle around a full postcode, with the month window, coverage state and largest category
Rank postcode districts in England and Wales by published records per 1,000 residents, with rates and the counts behind them
Read methodology notes on coverage, approximate locations, postcode assignment, rates, rankings and citation
When to use it
Useful when someone asks about crime counts or published rates for a UK postcode or district, or wants to compare areas on published figures. It is not a safety rating and should be paired with the methodology notes when explaining results.
Requirements
Remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no package or local runtime. No authentication is declared for the free tools. An optional CrimeMapsUK API key sent as an Authorization: Bearer header unlocks category breakdowns in postcode_summary and a monthly quota.
Before you install
Free tools are rate-limited to 5 calls a minute and 100 a day per IP address, and calls from Anthropic, Google or OpenAI networks share one allowance per platform. Figures are counts of published police records, not all crime, locations are approximate, and a district is a postal area rather than a town. Results should be credited to CrimeMapsUK with the page link, and areas must not be described as safe or unsafe.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.crimemapsuk%2Fcrime-data/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
Published street-crime figures for a UK postcode district.
Given a postcode, answers for its whole postcode district (E8 for E8 1AA), never for the
exact postcode. Returns the district's last 12 published months: total, monthly series,
categories, and the covering police force, with page_url, a citation, and the attribution.
For a full postcode that is not known to be outside England and Wales, the result also has
free_report_url, the free result page for the 0.5 km around it.

area_rankings
Rank postcode districts by published crime rate
Postcode districts in England and Wales ranked by published street-crime records,
anti-social behaviour included, per 1,000 Census 2021 residents. Each row has the rate, the
counts behind it, and its page_url. These are published rates, not safety ratings.

How CrimeMapsUK builds its figures
Notes on how CrimeMapsUK builds its figures: coverage, approximate locations, postcode
assignment, rates, rankings, outcomes, and how to cite a page, with the methodology
page_url.
Takes no parameters.
postcode_summary
Crime counts around a postcode
Published street-crime records in the fixed 0.5 km circle around a postcode, over the 12
months up to the latest published month: the total, the month window, the coverage state,
and the largest category, with page_url, a citation, and free_report_url. Called with a
CrimeMapsUK API key, it returns every category's count. The free figures come from a snapshot
up to six hours old and keyed ones from one up to 15 minutes old, so they can differ briefly
after new data is published.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
