Remote MCP server that returns modeled U.S. crime indexes for a census block group, given an address, coordinates, or block group ID.
What you can do
Look up crime indexes for a U.S. location
Accept exactly one locator: a street address, latitude and longitude, or a 12-digit census block group GEOID
Return 16 crime types plus four summaries with expected annual counts, indexes where 100 equals the U.S. rate per resident, 80% intervals, confidence, and national comparisons
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs neighborhood-level crime context for a U.S. address or coordinates, such as property research, relocation comparisons, or location reports. It is a single-purpose lookup, so it only fits questions about modeled crime rates.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no local package or runtime. Requires a CrimeMetric API key sent as a bearer token in the Authorization header; a free key is offered through the provider's signup page. Network access to the provider's API is needed.
Before you install
The API key is a secret passed in the Authorization header, so keep it out of logs and shared transcripts. Values are modeled estimates for census block groups with 80% intervals and confidence figures, not reported incidents, so results should be presented as estimates rather than facts. Queries send the address or coordinates to a third-party service.
Connect Authorization token credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.crimemetric%2Fcrime-index/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
