com.doaluPublished by doalu.comv0.1.0Updated Oct 29, 2026
Where to stay in a city: which areas suit whom, with links to the doalu.com guide pages.
Overview
Looks up doalu.com travel guides to tell an assistant which areas of a city, region or district suit which travellers, with page links.
- What you can do
- Find countries, regions, cities and districts by name, with location, population and page link
- Get the recommended stay areas for a place, who each suits and why, with links
- List the stay areas of a place and the places within it
- Match names in English and report when a qualifier matches nothing
- When to use it
- Useful when someone is planning a trip and wants to choose a neighbourhood or area before picking a hotel, or asks where to stay in a given city, region or district.
- Requirements
- Runs locally as a stdio server via npx, so Node.js 18 or later is needed. No API key or account; it reads public static guide files from doalu.com over the network.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open doalu.com where to stay in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.
README
doalu-mcp
Where to stay, by area. Pick the right area first. The right hotel follows.
An MCP server, a command line and an agent skill over the doalu.com guide. For each city, region and district it names the areas to stay in, who each one suits and why, and links its page on doalu.com.
No API key, no account, no dependencies. It reads only the public, static guide files at
https://doalu.com/api/v1/ (Node.js 18 or later).
MCP server
Add it to your MCP client (Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and others) as a stdio server:
Claude Code: claude mcp add doalu -- npx -y github:Doalu/doalu-mcp. Claude Desktop can also install the
doalu-mcp-<version>.mcpb bundle from the releases.
Every answer names the doalu.com page it comes from. Please show that link to your users: the page has the full guide and the hotels in each area. Names are matched in English ("Copenhagen", not "København"). A qualifier that matches nothing is dropped, and the answer says so.
Command line
Agent skill
skills/doalu-where-to-stay/SKILL.md tells an agent when and how to use the
server, the command line or the files (Agent Skills format).
The data
https://doalu.com/api/v1/index.json lists every place; https://doalu.com/api/v1/{place path}.json holds one
place: name, kind, country, url, breadcrumb, children, stay_areas (name, url, best_for, why),
population, timezone and wikidata_qid. The files change with each site build and are served with open CORS.
The list of places is also an open dataset: github.com/Doalu/places.

Score
50% of the applicable checks met
How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.

Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
