Overview

AI-generated overview

Read-only access to Dyslexia Steps phonics and sight-word lists, letting an assistant look up, filter and search word lists by grade, language or letter…

What you can do
  • Browse and filter word lists by language, grade or section, with titles, grade ranges and word counts
  • Read one list in full, including its words, letter-family groups, page URL and license
  • Collect every distinct English word covering a grade, with the lists each word comes from
  • Find words that start with, end with or contain a pattern such as sh, ck or ight
  • Explain how each grade placement was sourced and return citation and download details
When to use it
Useful when building reading or phonics practice material and you want an assistant to pull sourced word lists for a grade, language or letter pattern instead of inventing words.
Requirements
A remote endpoint at mcp.dyslexiasteps.com over streamable HTTP; no authentication, environment variables or headers are declared. The README also documents running it locally via npx or self-hosting the HTTP transport.
Before you install
Read-only; no credentials, payments or write actions are involved. Grade placements are described as typical guides, not assessments of a child, and the server gives no advice about learning difficulties. Compilation data is CC BY 4.0, so reuse requires attribution.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Dyslexia Steps in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.dyslexiasteps%2Fdyslexia-steps/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Honest limits

A grade is a typical guide, not a rule: programs and standards differ, and a placement is not an assessment of any child. The lists in other languages follow each language's own reading curriculum and have no grade. The server only returns word lists; it gives no advice about a learning difficulty.
