Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote MCP server that lets an assistant find Unicode emoji by meaning, slang or name and look up an emoji's details.

What you can do
  • Search emoji by meaning, mood, slang or name, returning characters, names and links with the best match first
  • Look up a single emoji by character or slug for its name, codepoints, category, Unicode version, aliases, keywords, skin-tone support and related emoji
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to pick the right emoji for a message or to answer questions about an emoji's codepoints, Unicode version or keywords.
Requirements
A remote Streamable HTTP endpoint; no local runtime, API key, account or configuration is needed.
Before you install
Read-only and free, with no credentials requested. Each tool call sends only its arguments (search words or the emoji being looked up) to the third-party server at emojidig.com.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open EmojiDig Emoji Search in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.emojidig%2Femoji-search/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

EmojiDig Emoji Search for OpenClaw

Find emoji by meaning, mood or slang ("im dead" finds the skull) and look up any emoji's name, codepoints, Unicode version, keywords and skin-tone support. Wraps the free remote MCP server at emojidig.com.

This plugin adds the emojidig.com remote MCP server to OpenClaw. Nothing runs locally: OpenClaw connects to https://emojidig.com/mcp over Streamable HTTP. No API key, no account, no config.

Install

bash
openclaw plugins install git:github.com/fazal-bhinder/openclaw-emoji-search

Or from a local checkout: openclaw plugins install ./openclaw-emoji-search. Then check it loaded with openclaw plugins inspect emoji-search. The tools are available from the next agent session.

Usage

  1. Install the plugin (see above) and start a new agent session.

  2. Check it loaded: openclaw plugins inspect emoji-search should list the tools below.

  3. Ask in plain language. The agent picks the tool. For example:

    • "Find an emoji for 'im dead'"
    • "Which emoji mean celebration?"
    • "Look up the codepoints and Unicode version of 🫠"

No setup or configuration is needed.

Data and permissions

  • The plugin adds one remote MCP server, https://emojidig.com/mcp (Streamable HTTP). It has no local code, needs no permissions and runs nothing on your machine.
  • Each tool call sends only its arguments to that server: your emoji search words, or the emoji you want looked up.
  • No API key, account, OpenClaw config, local files or conversation history are sent.

Tools

OpenClaw prefixes MCP tools with the server name, so they appear as emoji-search__<tool>.

ToolWhat it does
emoji-search__search_emojiFind emoji by meaning, mood, slang or name, best match first.
emoji-search__get_emojiLook up one emoji by character or slug: name, codepoints, category, Unicode version, aliases, keywords, skin-tone support and related emoji.

Try asking

  • "Which emoji means "I'm dead"?"
  • "What Unicode version added 🫠?"

Manual setup (without the plugin)

Add the server to your OpenClaw config yourself:

json
{  "mcp": {    "servers": {      "emoji-search": { "url": "https://emojidig.com/mcp", "transport": "streamable-http" }    }  }}

Check

npm test (or node check.mjs) calls the live server and asserts a real result. Needs Node 18+ and no dependencies.

Files

  • openclaw.plugin.json: the native OpenClaw manifest. It declares the remote server under mcpServers.
  • .claude-plugin/plugin.json and .mcp.json: the same server in the Claude bundle format, which OpenClaw and ClawHub also read.

About

Made by Fazal Singh Bhinder, who also runs emojidig.com. The server is free and read-only. MIT licensed.
