Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote MCP server that turns SQL, Prisma or ORM schema text into an interactive ER diagram on erddocs.com, with no account needed.

What you can do
  • Open an interactive ER diagram of a database schema on erddocs.com
  • Pass schema text exactly as written in the project, such as SQL dumps and DDL for PostgreSQL, MySQL or SQL Server, plus Prisma or ORM models
  • Use it to view, understand, review or document a database structure
When to use it
Useful when a user wants to see or explain their database structure, review a schema, or produce an ER diagram for documentation. It is a single-purpose tool, so it fits schema review and documentation rather than ongoing database work.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint at erddocs.com; no package, account, API key, environment variable or header is declared. The schema text is supplied by the user or project.
Before you install
Schema text is sent to a third-party service (erddocs.com) to render the diagram, so avoid pasting schemas containing sensitive names or data. The description states nothing is stored, but that is the provider's claim; no authentication is declared.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open ErdDocs in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.erddocs%2Ferd-diagram/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Open ER diagram

Open an interactive ER diagram of a database schema on erddocs.com. Use it when the user wants to see, understand, review or document their database structure, or asks for an ER diagram. Pass the schema text exactly as it is in the project. It reads SQL dumps and DDL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, SQLite), Prisma schema.prisma, DBML, Mermaid erDiagram, PlantUML, Django models.py, SQLAlchemy models, Sequelize models, TypeORM entities and a folder of Laravel migrations (concatenate the files). For SQL, the structure is enough: no INSERT data. Returns a link. The user opens it in a browser and gets the diagram with every table and relation laid out, relations without declared foreign keys found by column name and drawn dashed, and a data dictionary. Nothing is stored on the server: the schema travels inside the link and is parsed in the user's browser. A link holds a schema of a few dozen tables (about 100–200 characters of link per table, depending on comments); for a larger one the tool says so and the user pastes it on erddocs.com instead.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
