Give AI agents access to form submissions — read, search, update, and process file attachments.

Overview

AI-generated overview

Connects an AI assistant to Formester form submissions so it can read, search, update and process responses and their file attachments.

What you can do
Read individual form submissions, optionally including attached files. Query submissions across a form, such as recent responses or a date range. Update submissions, including custom fields and starred status. Fetch file attachments such as resumes or uploaded documents for processing.
When to use it
Useful when you collect responses through Formester and want an assistant to summarize, triage, classify or evaluate them, for example sorting support tickets, reviewing job applications, or flagging urgent issues and writing results back as custom fields. Best for teams already using Formester as their form platform.
Requirements
A remote endpoint at app.formester.com/mcp, reachable over the network. Authentication is required: OAuth through a browser for interactive clients, or a Formester API token sent as an Authorization Bearer header for scripts and clients without OAuth. A Formester account with forms and submissions is needed.
Before you install
Connecting grants the assistant access to your form submissions, which may contain personal or sensitive respondent data. The update tool writes back to submissions, including custom fields and starred status, so changes can alter records. API tokens are passed in an Authorization header and should be kept secret; prefer OAuth where supported. Attachments fetched are sent to the AI client and its model provider.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Formester in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.formester%2Fmcp/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

Quickstart

Step 1: Choose your auth method

MethodBest for
OAuthInteractive clients (Claude.ai, Cursor, VS Code) — authorize via browser, no token setup
API TokenScripts, automation, or clients without OAuth support — create once in Formester → API

→ Full authentication guide

Step 2: Connect your AI client

Claude

Via OAuth (recommended)

Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector → enter a name and https://app.formester.com/mcp as the URL. Claude will prompt you to authorize on first connection.

Via API Token

{  "mcpServers": {    "formester": {      "command": "npx",      "args": [        "mcp-remote",        "https://app.formester.com/mcp",        "--header",        "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN_HERE"      ]    }  }}

Fully quit and restart Claude Desktop.

VS Code (GitHub Copilot)

Via OAuth

Create or edit .vscode/mcp.json:

json
{  "servers": {    "formester": {      "type": "http",      "url": "https://app.formester.com/mcp"    }  }}

VS Code will handle the OAuth flow automatically. Switch Copilot Chat to Agent mode to use the tools.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
