Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote MCP server that lets an assistant classify US HTS codes, estimate import duty and landed cost, and list recent US tariff policy changes.

What you can do
Classify products: find candidate US Harmonized Tariff Schedule codes with official descriptions and base duty rates, when the user wants the code itself rather than a cost estimate. Estimate costs: calculate US import duty and landed cost from an HTS code, including base duty, trade actions such as Section 301, 232 and 338, AD/CVD and other fees. Track policy: list US trade policy changes published since a given date, with new tariff actions, rate changes, effective dates and expirations, to answer what changed recently or what is coming.
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs to answer questions about US import classification, duty and landed cost estimates, or recent and upcoming tariff policy changes, for example when planning an import or checking how a product is likely to be treated.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint at mcp.gatewaylines.com; no packages, environment variables or headers are declared. The manifest declares no authentication, so no account or API key setup is listed.
Before you install
Estimates can be partial: when estimate_status is partial, AD/CVD is undetermined, so figures may be incomplete. Treat results as estimates rather than binding customs determinations and verify against official sources before relying on them for pricing or compliance.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Gateway Lines Tariff in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.gatewaylines%2Ftariff/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Calculate landed cost and import duty

Calculate US import duty and landed cost estimates. Give hts_code when you know it and this returns the calculated base duty and trade actions (Section 301, Section 232, Section 338, AD/CVD and others), estimated duty, fees and import cost. When estimate_status is partial, AD/CVD is undetermined and the amounts are provisional; convey that the estimate is incomplete. Give product instead and it returns candidate HTS codes WITHOUT pricing, because the classification decides the duty and guessing it produces confidently wrong numbers: confirm the right code with the user, then call again with hts_code. The candidate step is not charged.
