Overview

AI-generated overview

A hosted MCP server that lets an AI assistant search, save, tag, summarize and tidy the links in your Link Crypt bookmark library.

What you can do
Search and read saved links, including full page text, with overview, listing, tag listing and digest tools. Save new links and update existing ones. Apply, rename or remove tags. Find duplicate links and merge them. Delete links or tags when explicitly confirmed.
When to use it
Useful if you keep bookmarks in Link Crypt and want to ask an assistant in plain language what you saved, find an article by its content, tag new links, or get a reading digest.
Requirements
A remote hosted server at the given endpoint; nothing to install. A Link Crypt account and OAuth sign-in with approval on the provider site; no API keys to copy. Network access to the endpoint.
Before you install
Write tools can save, update, tag, merge and delete your bookmarks; delete and merge are destructive and need explicit confirmation. You choose at connection time whether the assistant may make changes, and read-only mode disables them. The connection sees only your own library, within your plan limits.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Link Crypt in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.getlinkcrypt%2Flinkcrypt/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

README

Link Crypt MCP server

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot and other AI assistants to Link Crypt, so you can search, save, and tidy your saved links by asking in plain English.

Link Crypt is a bookmark library that keeps a copy of every page you save, so search finds words in the page itself, not just its title.

Server URL: https://mcp.getlinkcrypt.com/mcp

This is a hosted (remote) server. There is nothing to install. You sign in to your Link Crypt account and approve the connection; no API keys to copy.

What you can ask

  • "What did I save this week?"
  • "Find the article I saved about sourdough starters."
  • "Save this link and tag it recipes."
  • "Which tags am I using most?"
  • "Do I have any duplicate links? Merge them."
  • "Write me a digest of what I've been reading this month."

Connect

Claude (Claude.ai, Desktop, mobile): Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector → https://mcp.getlinkcrypt.com/mcp, then sign in and approve.

ChatGPT: Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings → Developer mode on → Create → https://mcp.getlinkcrypt.com/mcp, Authentication: OAuth.

Changes (turned off when you connect read-only) save_link, update_link, tag_link, update_tag, delete_link, delete_tag, merge_duplicates

Read tools are marked read-only. delete_link, delete_tag and merge_duplicates are marked destructive and need explicit confirmation.

Security and privacy

  • Sign-in is OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. You approve each connection on getlinkcrypt.com and choose whether the assistant may make changes. Disconnect any time from Preferences → Connected AI assistants, and access stops immediately.
  • A connection sees only your own library, with the same limits as your plan.
  • The server reads only what each tool is asked for. It does not see your chat history.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
