Free remote MCP server for SEO and AI-search checks: AI crawler readiness, llms.txt validation, and AI citation checks for a domain.
What you can do
Check whether AI crawlers such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot can read a site, and whether it has llms.txt, schema markup and server-rendered content, with a 0-100 score.
Validate an llms.txt file by site URL or by pasting drafted text, returning a score and per-check results.
Check whether ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini cite a domain for up to five buyer questions, reporting citation counts per AI.
When to use it
Useful when auditing a site's visibility to AI assistants and search engines, preparing or reviewing an llms.txt file, or testing whether AI answer engines mention a brand for realistic buyer questions.
Requirements
Remote streamable HTTP endpoint at grandranker.com; no account, token or signup. Rate limits apply per IP: 10 crawler checks per minute, 20 llms.txt checks per minute, 5 AI citation checks per 30 minutes.
Before you install
The citation check sends your questions to paid third-party AI APIs and is capped at 5 checks per 30 minutes per IP. Submitted URLs and questions go to the provider and to those AI services. Results are scores and pass/fail checks, not guarantees of ranking or citation.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.grandranker%2Ffree-tools/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
Check whether AI crawlers (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, Bytespider, CCBot) can read a website, and whether it has llms.txt, schema markup and server-rendered content. Returns a 0-100 score and the failed checks.

validate_llms_txt
Validate llms.txt
Validate an llms.txt file. Pass a website URL to fetch and check its /llms.txt (or /llms-full.txt), or pass the llms.txt text itself. Returns a 0-100 score, valid true/false, and each check. Use it to check a site or to review text drafted for the user. If both are given, the url is used.

check_ai_citations
Check AI citations
Check whether ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini cite a domain when asked the given questions. Send 1 to 5 realistic buyer questions (each at least 5 characters). Returns, per AI, how many questions cited the domain. Each check calls paid AI APIs, so the limit is 5 checks per 30 minutes per IP.
