Overview

AI-generated overview

Hanging Context serves recent news stories with every fact linked to its sources, letting an assistant ask questions, search, and follow new stories.

What you can do
  • Ask a question and get up to five verbatim key facts with story URLs and Manifest ids
  • Search, list or follow recent stories by keyword, topic or beat, or only those new since a cursor
  • Read a single story as a brief, full Markdown, or structured claims with related stories
  • Inspect the sources behind a story, including trust label and which facts use each source
  • List topics with beats, sources and 24-hour story counts, plus what the server does not cover
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs fresh, attributable context from the last 24 hours and should be able to show where each fact came from, for example for news questions, topic monitoring, or incremental polling of new stories.
Requirements
Remote Streamable HTTP endpoint; no authentication, API key or sign-in is required. Optional JavaScript (Node 18+) or Python (3.9+) client packages and a CLI are offered for read-only access.
Before you install
Read-only server with no credentials requested. Answers are keyword-matched rather than LLM-generated, so results may be incomplete; check the not_covered list and the cited sources before relying on a fact. Reuse of stories is subject to the publisher's reuse terms.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Hanging Context: News For Agents in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.hangingcontext%2Fmcp/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows
