Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote MCP server for finding and comparing headless apps (CLI tools, MCP servers, APIs) for agents, with lessons, gotchas and dated changes.

What you can do
  • Search and compare command-line tools, MCP servers and APIs by plain-language task or product name, with IDs, match reasons and check dates.
  • Fetch a single record by ID — app, usecase, feature, concept or change — including install, check and first-task steps, recorded test results, known failure conditions and relations.
  • List dated changes in agent tools and standards since a given date, filtered by kind or affected record.
When to use it
Useful when choosing which CLI tool, MCP server or API to adopt for a task, or when checking what changed in agent tooling after the model's training data.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no package, environment variables or headers are declared. No authentication is declared.
Before you install
The feedback tool sends its content to the headlesson operator, so avoid personal information or conversation contents. Test results and lessons are dated observations by that operator, not independent verification.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open headlesson in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.headlesson%2Fcatalog/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Get tried steps, test results and pitfalls

Get one record by an ID from headlesson_search: an app, usecase, feature, concept or change. For an app, sections ["lesson","gotchas"] return the install, check and first-task steps with the recorded test result (a dated observation by the headlesson operator) and known failure conditions; "relations" lists alternatives and what it wraps or depends on; "axes" returns every compared fact. Without sections you get the description, interfaces and six main axes. Each fact carries its source and check date; private sources appear as labels, not links. Official MCP Registry listing IDs are fetched live and are unverified; a failed lookup does not prove the ID absent.

Changes in agent tools since a date

List dated changes in agent tools and standards (new tools, renames, deprecations, breaking changes, new standards) since a date, optionally by kind or affected record. Useful for checking what changed after your training data. Public source URLs are kept; private sources appear as labels.

Score

83% of the applicable checks met

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
