Read a published dataset behind a chart, filtered by date or year
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs long-run U.S. equity market context — valuation, drawdowns, annual returns, index composition history — to answer research or analysis questions without scraping the site by hand.
Requirements
A remote MCP endpoint at historyofmarket.com over streamable HTTP. No authentication, environment variables or headers are declared, so only network access is needed.
Before you install
Read-only data access; no writes, credentials or payments are declared. Large daily series are truncated to roughly 60,000 characters per result, so long histories may come back partial and need narrower date filters. Figures are historical market data, not investment advice.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.historyofmarket%2Fmarket-history/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
Current headline readings (value, unit, observation date) for the site's charts: S&P 500 level, Shiller CAPE, forward P/E for the S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, SOX and sector ETFs, VIX, drawdown from the high, breadth, Magnificent 7 weight and more. Pass `id` for one chart, or omit it for all.

search_charts
Find a chart or dataset
Search the site's charts by topic or question (e.g. "bear markets", "Shiller CAPE", "Nasdaq 100 drawdown", "monthly seasonality"). Returns each chart's title, the question it answers, its page and the dataset path to pass to get_dataset.
Parameterslimitqueryrequired
get_dataset
Read a dataset
Read one published dataset (the JSON behind a chart), e.g. "sp500/drawdowns", "sp500/pe", "ndx/forward-pe", "recessions". Rows can be filtered by `since`/`until` on their `date` (or `year`). A result is capped at about 60,000 characters: when a file is larger (long daily series), each array keeps its most recent rows and the cut is reported under `windowed`. Scalars and summary fields are always included.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
