Overview

AI-generated overview

Local, read-only MCP server that gives a coding assistant iDos Games game module source, project scaffold, SDK skills and asset validators.

What you can do
  • Browse and search the module catalog, then fetch one module's full source and install steps
  • Get the host scaffold for a new project and the exact runtime package versions to install
  • List and load SDK skills explaining how to code against the core services and module contract
  • Validate a video-studio asset or a whole video package against the studio's own contract
When to use it
Use it when a coding agent is writing or extending an iDos Games web game project and needs the official module source, scaffold, package versions or SDK guidance. It is not for reading or changing a live game's configuration or generating assets, which the separate hosted server handles.
Requirements
Runs as a local stdio process via npx on the @idosgames/mcp npm package, so Node.js and a client that can start local processes are needed; browser-only clients cannot use it. No sign-in, API key or environment variables are required, and the registry is bundled so it works offline.
Before you install
All tools are read-only and return content; the assistant writes files into your own project, so review what it writes under src/modules and the project root. It does not touch live game data. Asset and video validation is described as free and offline.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open iDos Games SDK in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Other MCP clients

Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

iDos Games MCP

Official Model Context Protocol servers for iDos Games, a backend and publishing platform for cross-platform games (web, Android, iOS, PC) with web3 support. Connect them to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, Codex or any other MCP client, and your AI assistant can build, configure and ship your games.

There are two servers, and they do different jobs:

iDos Games (com.idosgames/platform)iDos Games SDK (com.idosgames/sdk)
What it works onYour live games: their data; plus the game modules and SDK skillsGame code in your project: modules and skills, offline
Where it runsHosted: https://site.idosgames.com/api/v2/mcpLocally: npx -y @idosgames/mcp
TransportStreamable HTTPstdio
Sign-inOAuth 2.1, you pick the games and permissions (modules and skills work without it)None (public, read-only)
Works in browser-only clients (claude.ai, ChatGPT)YesNo, it needs a client that can start a local process

Both serve the same catalog of game modules, the project scaffold and SDK skills, so a browser-only client (claude.ai, ChatGPT) gets them from the hosted server. A game's live config, generated assets, task board and builds go only through the iDos Games server; the SDK server needs no sign-in and works offline.

iDos Games (hosted)

What your assistant can do with it:

  • Find your games by name and see what it is allowed to do in each (list_my_titles).
  • Create a new game (create_title, its own permission): the same way the dashboard does, it takes a slot of your plan and gets the base systems, a game module, a ready starter build and a sandbox (DEV) copy. The new game joins the assistant's access at once, so it can configure and ship it next.
  • Read and update game configuration section by section: virtual currencies, items, store, lootboxes, quests, timed and co-op events, seasons, leaderboards, crafting, rewards, premium, tutorials, A/B experiments, localization, chat, multiplayer, push, advertising and more (get_<section> / save_<section>). Each section is saved on its own, so the rest of the configuration stays untouched.
  • Web3: game currencies as on-chain tokens and items as NFTs on EVM networks and Solana, player deposits and withdrawals through the reward pool, token-gated play and wallet login, networks, contract addresses and gas policy (get_blockchain / save_blockchain, crypto currencies in save_currency, NFT items in save_item). Token launch and holder staking live on idosgames.com itself.
  • Title data and localization keys: the game's shared key-value data and its text keys.
  • Server logic: publish CloudCode, and list secret names (values are never returned).
  • Generate assets with AI: images, speech and sound, music, short videos, 3D models and text. Generation spends your account's credits, so the assistant can check list_ai_tiers and estimate_media_cost before running it.
  • Task board: projects, columns, cards, assignees and comments.
  • Ship builds: upload a ready web build, get a test link, then put it live for players.
  • Game modules and SDK skills (read-only, no game needed): the project scaffold (get_host_scaffold), ready games and systems such as store, quests, inventory, leaderboard and multiplayer (list_modules, search_modules, get_module), exact SDK package versions (get_manifest) and how-to skills for the SDK (list_skills, get_skill).
  • Video studio catalog (read-only, no game needed): the formats of short videos and everything a video can name (list_video_formats, get_video_format), the library of ready characters, scenes and music (search_assets) and complete example videos (list_video_templates).
  • Write videos for the video studio (paid with credits): plan_video turns an idea into a ready video by the studio's AI director, generate_asset makes a character, scene, prop or music for it and puts it in its place. The answer is the video package ({ spec, assets }) and a link that opens it in the app's editor; the MP4 is made on the player's device. publish_asset puts the assets into the app's Workshop as its official content.

Every tool has a title and readOnlyHint / destructiveHint / openWorldHint annotations; create_title also says idempotentHint: false (every successful call is another game).

How sign-in works

Add the server as a plain HTTP MCP server with no headers and no API key. initialize and tools/list need no sign-in. The first tool call answers 401, your client opens the iDos Games sign-in page, and you pick which games the assistant may use and what it may do in each (read config, write config, generate assets, upload builds…), and whether it may create new games. The client then repeats the call. You can revoke access at any time in Connected apps on platform.idosgames.com.

iDos Games SDK (local)

Serves the iDos Games Module & Skills Registry to coding agents:

ToolPurpose
list_modulesCatalog of composable game modules (games and systems: store, quests, inventory, leaderboard…)
get_moduleOne module's full source and install instructions
get_host_scaffoldThe base every new project starts from (sign-in, lobby, config)
get_manifestRuntime @idosgames/* packages and their exact versions
list_skills / get_skillHow to code against @idosgames/core, the module contract and composition
searchFind a ready module by the feature you need
validate_asset / validate_videoCheck a video-studio asset or video package with the studio's own code; with title_id — the link that opens the video in the app

All tools are read-only and return content. The agent writes the files into its own project. The registry is bundled in the package, so it also works offline.

bash
claude mcp add idosgames-sdk -- npx -y @idosgames/mcp

npm: @idosgames/mcp.

list_modules

List game modules

List the composable iDosGames modules in the catalog. Each entry has id, name, type (template = a complete ready-to-run game to start FROM, e.g. voxelcraft; feature = a capability to add on top), engine, genre, a short summary, what it 'provides' (its features), tags, preview media, a live demo url, and its dependency count. Read 'provides' to reuse a ready module instead of building the feature from scratch, then get_module to pull its source. Entries may also carry 'sharedUi' ({provides, requires, drawsOwn}: shared chrome roles currency-bar | wallet | status | account | menu | modes — the project's base (sign-in + the lobby, see get_host_scaffold) provides currency-bar, wallet, account, menu and modes, and a game hides its own copies automatically) and 'inBase' (true: a system installed with the base in every new project — only profile, inventory, invite, friends and quests; its screen is a tab of the lobby; every other system is added only when the app needs it) and 'uses' (a game's modules: install them together with the game) and 'events' ({emits: [{topic, when, payload}], listens: [{topic, why}]}). To react to another module's event, copy its payload descriptor into your own defineTopic(topic, shape(payload)) — never import another module.

Takes no parameters.

get_module

Get module source

Get one module's full source (a map of files) plus install instructions. Write each file under src/modules/{id}/, install its dependencies, and register it in src/modules.ts. Requires a host scaffold in the project (see get_host_scaffold). Its module.ts declares 'sharedUi' (roles it draws for every mode or needs) and its module.meta.json declares 'events' (topics it emits with their payload shapes, and topics it listens to).

Parametersidrequired

list_skills

List SDK skills

List available skills (name + description). Skills are instructions for working with @idosgames/core services, the module contract, and composition. Use get_skill to load one.

Takes no parameters.

get_skill

Get SDK skill

Get one skill's full SKILL.md content and its reference files. Load the relevant skill before writing code against that part of the SDK.

Parametersnamerequired

get_host_scaffold

Get project scaffold

Get the base every NEW project starts from — the host shell with sign-in and the lobby (index.html, main.tsx, src/app.config.ts, the wallet files, empty src/modules.ts, config; the lobby and sign-in come from @idosgames/app-shell). Write these to the project root, then add modules with get_module: the systems with inBase (profile, inventory, invite, friends, quests, mailbox), the game(s) with the modules each game 'uses', and any other system the app needs.

Takes no parameters.

get_manifest

Get runtime package versions

Get the @idosgames runtime packages and their exact versions (core, wallet, module-sdk, react, app-shell). Install these so a seeded host/module resolves its imports.

Takes no parameters.

validate_asset

Validate a video asset

Check one asset of the iDos Games video studio (actor, set, prop or music — e.g. the answer of the platform MCP's generate_asset, or one you wrote) against the asset contract the studio itself uses: ref, style, title and tags, and the body — a voxel CharacterSpec, a 2D rig recipe (parts, colours, its own SVG art), a cut-out picture, a scene's anchors and camera shots, https addresses. Returns ok and the issues (error = the studio will drop the asset, warning = it works but the AI director will hardly pick it). Free, offline.

Parametersassetrequired

validate_video

Validate a video package

Check a video PACKAGE of the iDos Games video studio ({ spec, assets } — what the platform MCP's plan_video and generate_asset return) exactly as the studio will open it: the VideoSpec (format, style, set, cast, lines, captions, overrides), every asset, and that each own:/pack: ref of the spec is among the package's assets (lib: refs are the studio library — see search_assets on the platform MCP). With title_id it also returns the link that opens the package in that app's editor (https://{titleId}.idos.games/#videodata=…) — rebuild the link after you edit the package. Free, offline.
