Hosted CallRail MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, with each action switched per account.

Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted CallRail MCP server that lets an AI assistant read call tracking, form, SMS and attribution data and perform permitted write actions.

What you can do
  • Read call tracking data: accounts, companies, calls, recordings, page views, summaries and time series
  • Read form submissions, text messages and SMS threads, plus lead timelines
  • Read configuration: trackers, caller IDs, integrations and filters, tags, notifications, summary emails, users
  • Create and update records such as companies, trackers, tags, integrations, message flows, notifications and users
  • Send text messages, create outbound calls, and update calls, form submissions and SMS threads
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to answer questions about call volume by source or campaign, review recent form submissions and texts, or manage CallRail configuration and lead follow-up without leaving the chat.
Requirements
A remote MCP endpoint; no local package or runtime. Sign-in through InsightfulPipe OAuth when connecting, plus an InsightfulPipe subscription (plans start at $29.99/month with a 7-day trial). ChatGPT requires developer mode and a plan that supports it.
Before you install
The server exposes 27 write actions, including sending text messages, creating outbound calls, inviting users and creating webhooks or integrations; a read-only connection limits it to read actions. Destructive actions are off by default and actions are enabled per account. Call recordings, form submissions and customer data from your CallRail account pass through a third-party hosted service, and the service is paid.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open CallRail MCP by InsightfulPipe in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.insightfulpipe%2Fcallrail/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

What is CallRail MCP?

CallRail MCP is a remote Model Context Protocol server hosted by InsightfulPipe. Access call tracking data, form submissions, text messages, and analytics from your CallRail account.

Installation

Claude

  1. Copy the MCP Server URL: https://callrail.insightfulmcp.com/
  2. Open Claude Connectors Settings
  3. Scroll to the bottom and click Add custom connector
  4. Paste the URL and click Add
  5. Click Connect and sign in to InsightfulPipe if asked. Claude then lists the connector as connected.

ChatGPT

Custom MCP servers are added through ChatGPT's Developer mode. Availability depends on your ChatGPT plan, and workspace admins may need to allow it.

  1. Turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT settings
  2. Create a new app for a remote MCP server and paste the URL: https://callrail.insightfulmcp.com/
  3. Sign in to InsightfulPipe if asked. The connection finishes as soon as you are signed in.

See OpenAI's guide: Developer mode and MCP apps in ChatGPT

Claude Code

bash
claude mcp add --transport http callrail https://callrail.insightfulmcp.com/

Cursor

Add the server to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (all projects) or .cursor/mcp.json (one project):

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "callrail": {      "url": "https://callrail.insightfulmcp.com/"    }  }}

When Cursor shows Needs authentication, click Connect and sign in to InsightfulPipe if asked.

Control What Your AI Can Do

You decide what AI agents can do with each connected account:

  • Turn individual actions on or off for every connected account, so agents only see the actions you allow.
  • Connect as Read-only or Read & Write. A read-only connection can only enable read actions.
  • Destructive actions stay off by default. Actions such as deletes are disabled until an admin enables them.
  • Team access per account. Restricted team members only use the accounts they are granted, with the read actions enabled on them.

Usage Examples

"How many calls did we get per source last month?"
"Show form submissions from the last 7 days"
"Which campaigns drove the most first-time callers?"

Pricing

The CallRail MCP server is included in every InsightfulPipe plan, together with all other MCP servers and the CLI. Plans start at $29.99/month, and you can try it for 7 days. See insightfulpipe.com/pricing for current plans.
