Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted Google Ads MCP server that lets an AI assistant query campaign performance, run GAQL reports, and create or edit campaigns, ad groups, keywords and…

What you can do
  • Query performance reports for accounts, campaigns, ad groups, ads, keywords, search terms, geo, shopping and audiences
  • Run custom GAQL queries and generate keyword ideas via Keyword Planner
  • Read configuration: budgets, bidding strategies, labels, conversion actions, client accounts
  • Create campaigns, ad groups, ads, assets, labels, user lists and conversion actions
  • Update, pause, resume or remove campaigns, ad groups, ads, keywords and targeting
  • Upload offline conversions and Customer Match lists, and upload image or media assets
When to use it
Useful for marketers, agencies and developers who want to analyze Google Ads performance or make campaign changes conversationally instead of through the Google Ads interface, including multi-account reporting for clients.
Requirements
Remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no local package. Requires OAuth sign-in to Google and to InsightfulPipe, and a paid InsightfulPipe plan (trial available). ChatGPT use needs Developer mode and plan or admin permission.
Before you install
62 of 99 actions write to the live ad account, including budget, bidding, targeting and status changes; new campaigns, ad groups and ads are created paused, and destructive actions are off by default. Access is scoped per account as read-only or read-write, so check which actions are enabled. Uploads can send customer data such as Customer Match lists and offline conversions to Google. Requires a paid subscription.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Google Ads MCP by InsightfulPipe in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.insightfulpipe%2Fgoogle-ads/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

  • Query campaign performance metrics using natural language
  • Analyze ad group and keyword performance
  • Get AI-powered recommendations for campaign optimization
  • Monitor ROAS, CTR, CPC, and conversion metrics
  • Create and manage campaigns, ad groups, and keywords
  • Execute custom GAQL queries for advanced reporting

ChatGPT

Custom MCP servers are added through ChatGPT's Developer mode. Availability depends on your ChatGPT plan, and workspace admins may need to allow it.

  1. Turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT settings
  2. Create a new app for a remote MCP server and paste the URL: https://google-ads.insightfulmcp.com/
  3. Sign in to InsightfulPipe if asked. The connection finishes as soon as you are signed in.

Control What Your AI Can Do

You decide what AI agents can do with each connected account:

  • Turn individual actions on or off for every connected account, so agents only see the actions you allow.
  • Connect as Read-only or Read & Write. A read-only connection can only enable read actions.
  • Destructive actions stay off by default. Actions such as deletes are disabled until an admin enables them.
  • Team access per account. Restricted team members only use the accounts they are granted, with the read actions enabled on them.

New Google Ads campaigns, ad groups and ads are created paused, so nothing goes live until you enable it.
