Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted Google Merchant Center MCP server that lets an assistant read and manage product feeds, inventory, promotions, return policies and Shopping performance.

What you can do
  • Read account, business identity, users, programs, regions and account issues
  • List and fetch products, data sources, promotions, return policies, shipping settings and inventories
  • Query Shopping performance through Merchant API report queries
  • Create and update feeds, products, promotions, regions, inventories, return policies and business info
  • Delete data sources, products, regions and return policies, and trigger immediate fetches of file-based feeds
  • Add or remove account users and replace shipping settings
When to use it
Use it when an assistant should work with a Google Merchant Center account: checking which products are disapproved, reviewing Shopping performance, or maintaining feeds, promotions, inventory and return policies without leaving the chat.
Requirements
A remote MCP endpoint added by URL; no local package. Sign-in through InsightfulPipe OAuth is required, and the account must be connected to that service. A paid InsightfulPipe plan (starting at $29.99/month, 7-day trial) is needed. ChatGPT requires developer mode and plan or admin approval.
Before you install
22 of the 44 actions write to the account, including deletes, user add/remove, and a shipping update that replaces existing services. Destructive actions are off by default and can be enabled per account; prefer a read-only connection unless writes are needed. Access is granted through InsightfulPipe, so account data passes through that third party, and the service is subscription-billed.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Google Merchant Center MCP by InsightfulPipe in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.insightfulpipe%2Fgoogle-merchant-center/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

Google Merchant Center MCP Server by Insightful Pipe

[MCP Compatible] [Insightful Pipe] [License]

Connect Google Merchant Center to AI assistants: product feeds, inventory, promotions and Shopping performance.

Part of the Insightful Pipe MCP Server Collection — use Google Merchant Center from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and other AI assistants through the Model Context Protocol (MCP).

What is Google Merchant Center MCP?

Google Merchant Center MCP is a remote Model Context Protocol server hosted by InsightfulPipe. Manage product feeds, inventory, promotions, and return policies, and query Shopping performance through the Merchant API.

Installation

Claude

  1. Copy the MCP Server URL: https://google-merchant-center.insightfulmcp.com/
  2. Open Claude Connectors Settings
  3. Scroll to the bottom and click Add custom connector
  4. Paste the URL and click Add
  5. Click Connect and sign in to InsightfulPipe if asked. Claude then lists the connector as connected.

ChatGPT

Custom MCP servers are added through ChatGPT's Developer mode. Availability depends on your ChatGPT plan, and workspace admins may need to allow it.

  1. Turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT settings
  2. Create a new app for a remote MCP server and paste the URL: https://google-merchant-center.insightfulmcp.com/
  3. Sign in to InsightfulPipe if asked. The connection finishes as soon as you are signed in.

See OpenAI's guide: Developer mode and MCP apps in ChatGPT

Claude Code

bash
claude mcp add --transport http google-merchant-center https://google-merchant-center.insightfulmcp.com/

Cursor

Add the server to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (all projects) or .cursor/mcp.json (one project):

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "google-merchant-center": {      "url": "https://google-merchant-center.insightfulmcp.com/"    }  }}

When Cursor shows Needs authentication, click Connect and sign in to InsightfulPipe if asked.

Control What Your AI Can Do

You decide what AI agents can do with each connected account:

  • Turn individual actions on or off for every connected account, so agents only see the actions you allow.
  • Connect as Read-only or Read & Write. A read-only connection can only enable read actions.
  • Destructive actions stay off by default. Actions such as deletes are disabled until an admin enables them.
  • Team access per account. Restricted team members only use the accounts they are granted, with the read actions enabled on them.

Usage Examples

"Which products have issues or are disapproved?"
"Show Shopping performance by product for the last 30 days"
"List my return policies"
