Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted MCP server that connects X Ads (Twitter Ads) accounts to AI assistants for campaign reporting and creation, with per-account action controls.

What you can do
  • Read campaigns, line items, promoted posts, cards, creatives, media, targeting options, tracking tags and funding instruments
  • Pull synchronous and async analytics on impressions, engagements, clicks, video views, conversions and recommendations
  • Create campaigns, line items, promoted-only ad posts, cards, creatives, targeting criteria and tracking tags
  • Update campaigns, line items, media library items and tracking tags, and upload images
  • Delete campaigns, cards, line items, creatives, targeting criteria, tracking tags and scheduled tweets when enabled
When to use it
Useful for marketers, performance teams and agencies who want to ask an assistant about X ad performance in natural language, generate reports, or draft new campaigns and ad creatives without leaving the chat.
Requirements
Remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no local install. Requires OAuth sign-in to InsightfulPipe and an X Ads account, plus a paid InsightfulPipe plan (7-day trial). ChatGPT use needs Developer mode and a plan that allows custom MCP servers.
Before you install
28 of the 80 actions change data, including 11 destructive deletes that are off by default; new campaigns and line items start paused. Choose read-only or read-write connection and enable actions per account deliberately. Ad account data passes through a third-party hosted service, and the service is subscription-based.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open X Ads MCP by InsightfulPipe in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.insightfulpipe%2Fx-ads/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

README

X Ads MCP Server (Twitter Ads) by Insightful Pipe

[MCP Compatible] [Insightful Pipe] [License]

Connect X Ads (formerly Twitter Ads) to AI assistants to report on campaigns and build them: campaigns, line items, promoted-only posts and cards, with new campaigns starting paused.

Part of the Insightful Pipe MCP Server Collection — The X Ads MCP server gives Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other AI assistants 80 actions (52 read and 28 that make changes) on your X ad accounts. Your assistant can report on campaigns, line items, promoted posts and creatives, then create campaigns, line items, promoted-only ad posts and website, app or carousel cards. New campaigns and line items start paused, ad posts are created promoted-only so they don't appear on your public timeline, and delete actions stay off until an admin turns them on.

For your account's own posts, replies, direct messages and post analytics, use the X Organic MCP server.

Control What Your AI Can Do

You decide what AI agents can do with each connected account:

  • Turn individual actions on or off for every connected account, so agents only see the actions you allow.
  • Connect as Read-only or Read & Write. A read-only connection can only enable read actions.
  • Destructive actions stay off by default. Actions such as deletes are disabled until an admin enables them.
  • Team access per account. Restricted team members only use the accounts they are granted, with the read actions enabled on them.
