X (Twitter) MCP by InsightfulPipe
com.insightfulpipePublished by insightfulpipe.comv1.0.0Updated Nov 4, 2026
Hosted X (Twitter) MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, with each action switched per account.
Overview
Hosted MCP server that connects an X (Twitter) account so an assistant can read timelines, search posts, send DMs and publish posts and threads.
- What you can do
- Read posts, timelines, mentions, users, lists, Spaces, news and bookmarks
- Search recent or full-archive posts, count matches, and search users and communities
- Read engagement and video playback analytics, plus X app API usage and remaining credit
- Publish posts, replies and threads with media, alt text and subtitles, and edit recent posts
- Send direct messages and manage DM conversations
- Manage lists, mutes and blocks, and draft or publish long-form Articles
- When to use it
- Useful when you want an assistant to work directly on a live X account: drafting and publishing posts or threads, monitoring mentions and trends, pulling engagement numbers, or handling direct messages. It fits marketing and social-media workflows rather than ad campaigns, which the provider covers with a separate server.
- Requirements
- Remote streamable HTTP endpoint at the provider's hosted URL; no local install. Requires signing in to the provider (OAuth) and its subscription plan starting at $29.99/month. You must create your own X developer app with read/write/DM permissions, add credit, and supply the consumer key, secret, access token and access token secret in the provider's integration settings.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open X (Twitter) MCP by InsightfulPipe in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.insightfulpipe%2Fx-organic/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.Other MCP clients
Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

X (Twitter) MCP Server by Insightful Pipe
[MCP Compatible] [Insightful Pipe] [License]
Connect your X (formerly Twitter) account to AI assistants to publish posts, replies and threads, read timelines and mentions, search posts, send direct messages and read post analytics.
Part of the Insightful Pipe MCP Server Collection. The X Organic MCP server gives Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other AI assistants 92 actions (59 read, 23 write and 10 destructive) on your X account. It is hosted, so there is nothing to install, and it runs on your own X developer app: X bills every API call to your developer account at its pay-per-use rates.
For paid campaigns, use the X Ads MCP server instead. It connects with an X sign-in and needs no developer app.
MCP Server URL
What is the X Organic MCP server?
A remote Model Context Protocol server that connects an X account to AI assistants. Your assistant can:
- Publish posts, replies and threads with images, GIFs or videos, alt text and subtitles
- Read your home timeline, any account's posts and mentions, replies, reposts and quote posts
- Search posts from the last 7 days, or the full archive where your X plan allows it, and count matches
- Read engagement analytics for up to 100 posts at a time, and video playback analytics
- Read and send direct messages
- Manage lists, mutes and blocks, and draft and publish Articles
- Check your X app's usage and remaining API credit
Before you connect: your own X developer app
X Organic uses your X developer app, so X bills each call to you.
- Sign in to the X Developer Console and create a Project and an app.
- Add credit under Billing → Credits.
- In the app's settings, set App permissions to Read and write and Direct message, and add the Callback URI shown in InsightfulPipe.
- Under Keys & Tokens, generate the Access Token and Access Token Secret.
- In InsightfulPipe, add the X Organic integration, choose Read-only or Read & write, and paste the Consumer Key, Secret Key, Access Token and Access Token Secret. This connects the X account that owns the app.
Installation
Claude
- Copy the MCP Server URL:
https://x-organic.insightfulmcp.com/ - Open Claude connector settings (Customize > Connectors), click + and then Add custom connector
- Paste the URL and click Add
- Click Connect and sign in to InsightfulPipe if asked. Claude then lists the connector as connected.
ChatGPT
Custom MCP servers are added through ChatGPT's Developer mode. Availability depends on your ChatGPT plan, and workspace admins may need to allow it.
- Turn on Developer mode in ChatGPT settings
- Create a new app for a remote MCP server and paste the URL:
https://x-organic.insightfulmcp.com/ - Sign in to InsightfulPipe if asked. The connection finishes as soon as you are signed in.
See OpenAI's guide: Developer mode and MCP apps in ChatGPT
Claude Code
Cursor
Add the server to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (all projects) or .cursor/mcp.json (one project):
When Cursor shows Needs authentication, click Connect and sign in to InsightfulPipe if asked.
Available Actions
92 actions: 59 read, 23 write and 10 destructive.
Read Actions (59)
Show all 59 read actions
Write Actions (23)
Show all 23 write actions
Destructive Actions (10, off by default)
Show all 10 destructive actions
Control What Your AI Can Do
- Turn individual actions on or off for every connected account, so agents only see the actions you allow.
- Connect as Read-only or Read & write. A read-only connection can only enable read actions.
- Destructive actions stay off by default. Deleting posts and messages, undoing reposts and the other destructive actions are disabled until an admin enables them.
- Posts and messages go live at once. Publishing and sending direct messages are regular write actions, so turn them off for any account where agents should not post.
- No surprise spend. Results come 10 at a time and nothing pages automatically, and each write is sent once and never retried automatically.
Usage Examples
What It Can't Do
- Liking posts, following users and creating quote posts are not available, because X removed them from its self-serve API plans. Reading likes, followers and quote posts works.
- Bookmarks are read-only.
- Full-archive search and archive counts depend on your X plan.
- Paid campaigns are covered by the X Ads MCP server.
Pricing
The X Organic MCP server is included in every InsightfulPipe plan, together with all other MCP servers and the CLI. Plans start at $29.99/month. X bills the API calls to your own developer account. See insightfulpipe.com/pricing for current plans.
