Read a medication guide covering dose steps, side effects, food tips, treatment phases and FAQs
Explain what connecting a MALAI account adds and how to connect it
When to use it
Useful when a user on a GLP-1 medication asks about protein or calorie targets, wants nutrition facts for a food or a comparison between foods, or asks about a specific medication's dosing and side effects. It is a quick, account-free way to add nutrition context to a conversation.
Requirements
Remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no account, API key, environment variables or headers are needed for the listed tools. Network access to the provider's endpoint is required.
Before you install
Results are nutrition information, not medical advice, and the server says so; medication guides cite prescribing information but should not replace a clinician. The tools are read-only and need no credentials, but the provider's site is contacted and results include source links. Anything about the user's own food log or progress requires connecting a MALAI account, which the server only explains.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.itsmalai%2Fglp1-nutrition/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
MALAI: Look up nutrition for a food in MALAI's database (USDA FoodData Central, US foods): calories, protein, carbs, fat, fiber, saturated fat and sugar per serving (or per 100 g), plus the share of calories from protein. Use for "how much protein is in cottage cheese", "compare tofu and chicken", "is a turkey sandwich high in protein". A null value means unknown, not zero. Don't use to log food (that needs a MALAI account: malai_how_to_connect).

malai_calculate_protein_target
Protein target
MALAI: Calculate a daily protein range for someone on a GLP-1 medication from their body weight: 1.2–1.6 g per kg, the 2025 joint advisory range for weight loss, split into per-meal amounts. Same method as MALAI's protein calculator. Use for "how much protein should I eat on Zepbound", "I weigh 210 lb, what's my protein target". Don't use for a signed-in user's saved MALAI target (that is malai_get_nutrition_targets).
MALAI: Estimate daily calories, protein, carbs, fat and fiber from sex, age, height, weight, activity and goal, with MALAI's safety limits (a calorie floor and a cap on the rate of loss). Same calculator the MALAI app uses. Use for "how many calories should I eat on Wegovy", "what macros to lose 1 lb a week". Adults only. Don't use for a signed-in user's saved targets (that is malai_get_nutrition_targets).
MALAI: Get MALAI's guide to a GLP-1 medication (Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro or Zepbound): dose steps, common side effects with trial frequencies and food tips, what to eat, treatment phases, the first week, and FAQs, citing prescribing information. Use for "what are Mounjaro side effects", "what should I eat in my first week on Wegovy". Never use it to recommend a dose change, skipping or stopping; tell the user to ask their prescriber.

malai_how_to_connect
Connect a MALAI account
MALAI: Explain what connecting a MALAI account adds (logging food by describing it, protein left today, personal targets, saved recipes, next-meal ideas) and how to connect it to this assistant. Use when the user wants to log food, track progress, or ask about their own numbers while only the open MALAI tools are available.
