Overview

AI-generated overview

KeepBal lets an assistant search, inspect and run a catalog of third-party agent tools, paying per call from a prepaid KeepBal wallet with one API key.

What you can do
  • Search the KeepBal tool and model catalog locally, with ranked, paginated results
  • Inspect a tool's public metadata, known parameters, pricing and a JSON request example
  • Run a public tool through KeepBal's REST billing and access controls, with an optional per-call spending cap
  • Check and settle an existing run by run_id, including runs reported as pending
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs capabilities it lacks and you want to reach many third-party tools through one key and one prepaid balance instead of separate integrations. Inspect a tool before running it to see pricing and parameters.
Requirements
Remote streamable HTTP endpoint at keepbal.com; no local package. An Authorization header with a Bearer API key from the KeepBal console is required for tool calls. A funded prepaid KeepBal wallet is needed to run tools; search and inspect are free.
Before you install
Running tools spends real money from a prepaid wallet: fixed tools charge a per-call price, variable tools bill provider price plus 35%, and the max_cost_usd cap must cover the estimated cost. The API key is a secret sent in the Authorization header. Runs may settle later, so check pending runs with get_run. Tool inputs and outputs pass through KeepBal and the underlying providers.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open KeepBal in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.keepbal%2Fkeepbal/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Tools

4

search_tools

Search live KeepBal tools and models locally, free of charge. Use 2–200 query characters. Results are ranked and paginated; use category models for models.

Parameterslimitqueryrequiredoffsetcategory

inspect_tool

Read local public tool metadata, known parameters, pricing metadata and a JSON request example. Fixed tools show the per-call price; variable tools are billed at provider price + 35%. This is not an input-specific quote. Free; does not contact a provider. Unknown input schemas are explicitly marked.

Parameterstoolrequired

run_tool

Execute a public tool with your prepaid KeepBal wallet using the REST billing and access controls. Inspect first. Fixed tools charge the per-call price; variable tools are billed at provider price + 35%. Use input.max_cost_usd for a catalog spending cap; it must cover estimated cost and requires sufficient balance. Provider failures are not charged. Pending runs are polled for up to 25 seconds; use get_run to check later without starting another execution. Truncated or unsupported results must not be retried. Models use their documented REST endpoint.

get_run

Check and settle an existing run by run_id through REST ownership and access controls. No new execution or additional polling fee; the original execution charge may settle. Use after run_tool reports pending.
