Turn Canva designs into templates and render image/PDF variants via the Layerre API.
Overview
Layerre turns Canva designs into reusable templates and renders image or PDF variants from data, via a remote or local MCP server.
- What you can do
- Check authentication status and browse templates, tags and layers
- Import a Canva share link as an editable template and update its name, size, backgrounds or tags
- Add and edit text or image layers, including positions and styling
- Render PNG, JPEG, WebP or PDF variants with per-layer overrides, one at a time or up to 25 in bulk
- List and inspect previously generated variants
- When to use it
- Useful when you want an assistant to convert Canva designs into parameterized templates and produce branded images or PDFs from data, such as social cards or event graphics, without opening a design tool.
- Requirements
- Either the remote endpoint with browser OAuth sign-in, or a Layerre API key (lyr_...) supplied as a Bearer Authorization header or the LAYERRE_API_KEY environment variable for the local npx package @layerre/mcp-server, which needs Node.js. A Layerre account is required.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Layerre in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.layerre%2Flayerre/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.Other MCP clients
Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.
