Send PDFs, decks and HTML pages as branded, tracked links, and see who opened them.

Overview

AI-generated overview

Linkjar publishes PDFs, decks and HTML pages as branded, tracked links and reports who opened them, how far they read and what they clicked.

What you can do
  • Publish a PDF, Office file, HTML file or folder as a shareable link, and replace its contents later while keeping the same link.
  • List recent documents with view counts and open a document's settings page.
  • Review activity per link: who opened it, when, and how far they read; collect responses and signatures from fillable PDFs.
  • Create personal links for one recipient, and group several documents behind a single room link.
  • Configure password, email gate, allowed domains, expiry and a call-to-action button.
When to use it
Useful when an assistant should send proposals, pitch decks, one-pagers or case studies to named recipients and then report engagement back, for example deciding who to follow up with.
Requirements
A remote endpoint at linkjar.com with OAuth sign-in, or the linkjar CLI on Node 18+ (no dependencies) run via npx or a global install. The CLI needs a Linkjar account and either a browser login or an API key supplied through LINKJAR_API_KEY.
Before you install
Sending publishes documents to a third-party service and creates links that recipients can open; activity data about who read what is collected. Links can be protected with a password, email gate, allowed domains and expiry. The CLI stores a login token in a config file on the machine, and an API key in LINKJAR_API_KEY grants account access.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Linkjar in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.linkjar%2Flinkjar/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

README

linkjar

Send decks, proposals, PDFs and HTML pages as branded, tracked links from your terminal or your AI agent, then see who opened them, how far they read and what they clicked.

bash
npx linkjar loginnpx linkjar send deck.pdf --for "Sam Lee <[email protected]>"npx linkjar activity deck

Requires Node 18+. No dependencies. Install globally with npm i -g linkjar, or run it with npx linkjar.

bash
linkjar login # opens your browser; the token is saved, never printedlinkjar login --no-browser # over SSH: open the printed link on any devicelinkjar login --key lj_... # or save an API key

In CI or agent sandboxes, set LINKJAR_API_KEY instead. Create keys at Settings → Claude, CLI & API on linkjar.com. The env var takes precedence over a saved login. The login is saved in ~/.config/linkjar/config.json (or under $XDG_CONFIG_HOME), readable only by you. linkjar logout removes it.

Commands

CommandWhat it does
send <path|->Publish a PDF, Office file, HTML file, folder with index.html, or HTML on stdin
update <ref> <path|->Replace what a link shows; the link stays the same
listRecent documents with view counts
activity <ref>Who opened it, when, how far they read (alias views)
responses <ref>What people submitted or signed on a fillable PDF (--csv for a spreadsheet, --save-signed <dir> for signed PDFs)
link <ref> --name --emailA personal link for one person
settings <ref>Password, email gate, allowed domains, expiry, call-to-action button
room <title> <ref...>Several documents behind one link
open <ref>Open the document's settings page
whoami, login, logoutAccount

<ref> is a link, its slug or its id. Every command has --help with examples. Add --json to any command for the raw API response. In normal output the first line is the link.

bash
linkjar send ./proposal-site --title "Acme proposal" --password hunter22linkjar send deck.pdf --email-gate --domains acme.com --expires 2026-12-31linkjar send deck.pdf --cta-label "Book a call" --cta-url https://cal.com/me/introcat page.html | linkjar send - --title "One-pager"linkjar settings acme-proposal --remove-passwordlinkjar room "Acme deal room" acme-proposal case-study --email-gate

Use --url or LINKJAR_URL to point the CLI at another server, for example a local dev server.

For AI agents

skills/ holds agent skills for Claude Code, OpenClaw and similar agents:

SkillWhat it does
linkjarEvery CLI command: send, personal links, settings, activity, rooms
proposalWrites a client proposal page from a template and sends a link per decision-maker
pitch-deckBuilds a phone-friendly slide deck and sends a link per investor
one-pagerA sell sheet / leave-behind, optionally tailored to one account
case-studyTurns call notes and metrics into a case study (real quotes and numbers only)
follow-upReads activity and drafts who-to-contact-next emails

The writing skills ship a template.html with one <h2> per section, because the viewer reports which headings each person scrolled to. Ways to install them:

  • Claude Code plugin: this repo is also a Claude Code plugin and marketplace (.claude-plugin/):
    /plugin marketplace add rocketgems/linkjar/plugin install linkjar@linkjar
  • Any agent: copy the folders under skills/ into the agent's skills folder, for example ~/.claude/skills/.

For agents that can't run a CLI, such as Claude.ai or ChatGPT on the web, use the remote connector at https://linkjar.com/mcp instead.

Development

bash
npm test # node --test: arg parsing, zip writer, fake-server send/activity/refresh, OAuth flowLINKJAR_URL=http://localhost:8000 node bin/linkjar.js login
