Overview

AI-generated overview

Drafts, previews and publishes company press releases on LivePublicator from an AI chat, producing a permanent public page with a live link.

What you can do
  • Preview a press release privately without signing in, publishing nothing
  • Create, update and check draft releases, including cover images
  • Publish a draft after the user confirms, and fix the text of a live release within 24 hours
  • Read account details, credits left, release status and earlier releases
When to use it
Useful when a company has news to announce — a product launch, feature, partnership, funding or hire — and wants a structured press release page published quickly without leaving the chat. Also handy for turning an existing blog post or article into a release.
Requirements
Remote MCP server at the LivePublicator endpoint over streamable HTTP; no local install. Sign-in is OAuth via a one-time email link, no API keys. Previews work without signing in; drafting and publishing need an account. Publishing consumes credits bought on the website. ChatGPT support currently requires Business, Enterprise or Edu plans; Gemini requires a personal US Google account with AI Pro or Ultra.
Before you install
Publishing makes content public on the web and notifies search engines, so it should only follow an explicit user confirmation; it costs 1 credit per release. Some releases wait for human review before going live. The service receives the release text, its image and the account email. Live release text can only be corrected within 24 hours of going live.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open LivePublicator in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.livepublicator%2Flivepublicator/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

[LivePublicator]

LivePublicator MCP server

Publish press releases from ChatGPT, Claude and other AI assistants. Tell your assistant your news. It drafts the release with you, you check a private preview, and after you say publish, it goes live on its own page on LivePublicator. You never leave the chat.

Every release gets a permanent page with key facts, a quote, questions and answers and a press contact, in a clear, structured format that people, search engines and AI tools can read.

This repository is the public listing for the hosted server. It has no server code.

Add it to your assistant

ChatGPT

Works today on ChatGPT team and company plans (Business, Enterprise, Edu). Plus, Pro and Free: coming soon through the ChatGPT app store.

  2. Paste https://livepublicator.com/api/mcp, choose OAuth, click Scan tools, then Create.
  3. Sign in with the link we email you, then ask ChatGPT to publish your news.

Claude

Works today on all Claude plans (Free allows one custom connector).

  1. Open Customize, then Connectors. Click + Add, then Add custom connector. On Team and Enterprise, an owner adds it once under Organization settings.
  2. Paste https://livepublicator.com/api/mcp. Choose Sign in now and Use Claude's published identity, then Add.
  3. Sign in with the link we email you, then ask Claude to publish your news.

Pricing

Previews are free. Publishing uses 1 credit per release. Credits are bought on the LivePublicator website, never in the chat, and they never expire. If a release is not published, its credit comes back. See https://livepublicator.com/publish-from-ai#pricing.

Some releases wait for a person to check them before they go live (up to 24 hours). LivePublicator emails you when it is live.

Privacy and terms

LivePublicator receives only what your assistant sends to its tools (the release, its image and your account email), never your other chats.

preview_press_release

Preview a release

Shows how a company's press release will look on LivePublicator, without signing in. Use when the user has company news to announce, for example a product launch, a new feature, a partnership or funding, including news they just wrote about in a blog post or article in this chat. Draft the whole release yourself from the chat: headline, one-sentence summary, body, key facts and questions and answers, plus the quote (name and role), press contact, company name and website, and an image URL if there is one. Returns every problem to fix at once, or a private preview page that expires after 7 days. The preview page has a button to publish it on the LivePublicator website. This tool publishes nothing.

get_account

See your account

Shows the signed-in LivePublicator account: the company, the saved press contact and spokesperson (create_release fills these in, so do not ask the user for them), what is still missing, the credits left, whether releases go live after the automatic checks or wait for a person, and for agencies the client companies. Call it once before drafting.

Takes no parameters.

create_release

Save a draft

Saves a company's press release as a draft in the signed-in account and checks it: length, structure, links, image size and content. Use when the user has company news to announce, for example a product launch, a new feature, a partnership or funding, including news they just wrote about in a blog post or article in this chat. Draft the whole release yourself from the chat. The company, press contact and spokesperson come from the account when you leave them out. Send the image too: image_url, or image_file for a file attached in the chat, with image_is_ai true when it was made with AI. LivePublicator does not change the text. Returns every problem to fix at once, or a private preview link and an edit link. It does not publish and uses no credit. Agencies name the client company and set client_authorized to true.

update_release

Change a draft

Changes fields of a draft press release (only the fields you send) and checks the whole release again. Returns the problems to fix, or the updated preview link. Uses no credit.

Parametersfaqbodyquotesummaryheadlinekey_factsquote_namerelease_idrequiredquote_titlecontact_namecontact_emailcontact_title

add_image

Add a cover image

Adds a cover image to a draft press release. Send an image URL, or a file the user attached in the chat. With neither, it returns a one-time upload link where the user can drop the image. An image 1200 px wide or more fills the page, and from 600 px it shows at its own size. Under 600 px, or without an image, the release uses a simple cover with the company logo and headline, so this step is optional.

publish_release

Publish a release

Publishes the latest saved version of a draft press release on LivePublicator, including changes the user made on the draft page, and tells search engines about it. Only call this after the user has seen the preview and clearly said to publish, and set confirm to true. Uses 1 credit. Returns the live link within seconds, or says the release is waiting for a person to check it, with the reason and the expected time (up to 24 hours). If LivePublicator does not publish it, the credit comes back.

Parametersconfirmrequiredrelease_idrequired

get_release_status

Check a release

Shows where a press release is: draft, waiting for a person to check it, scheduled or live, with the live link once it is published. Only when the user asks about a release later. Not needed after create_release or publish_release, whose answers already say this.

Parametersrelease_idrequired

list_releases

List releases

Lists the account's earlier press releases with their status and links. Only when the user asks about their earlier releases. Not needed to draft or publish a new one.

Parameterslimit

fix_live_release

Fix a live release

Fixes the text of a published press release within 24 hours of it going live: a typo, a wrong date, a link, the quote. Send only the fields to change. The release keeps the same link and the earlier version is kept. The change is checked again before it shows. After 24 hours the text can't be changed.
