Searches a directory of 213,003 US gyms and lets an assistant read listings, check open times, message businesses and book appointments.
What you can do
Search gyms by place, category, distance, hours, price or free trial, and list the directory's categories and covered places with listing counts.
Read a full listing: hours, phone, address, prices, classes, amenities, offers and whether the business takes bookings or messages here.
Check live open times from a bookable business's calendar for a date range.
Send a question, quote request or callback request to a business that accepts contact.
Book an appointment at a time returned by the availability check.
When to use it
Useful when someone is looking for a gym, fitness class or studio in the United States and wants help comparing options, or wants the assistant to message a business or book a session in the same conversation.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint at localgymfinder.com; no package, account, API key or environment variable is declared. Network access is needed.
Before you install
Booking and messaging send the person's name, email and phone number to the business, and a phone number is required for callbacks. Both actions are confirmed with confirmed=true, so details should be checked with the person first. Listings and availability come from the directory and may be out of date.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.localgymfinder%2Fdirectory/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
Search Local Gym Finder (213003 listings). All filters optional. place = town, city, neighbourhood or state as written ('Point Pleasant Beach', 'Austin, TX'). category = a name from list_categories. near_lat/near_lng sort by distance within radius_km.

Towns, areas, cities or states covered, with listing counts. Filter by state or by part of a name.
Parameterslimitstatename_contains
check_availability
Check open times
Open times for a business that has can_book, read live from its calendar. start_date (YYYY-MM-DD) and days (1-30) narrow the range. Times are ISO 8601 in the business's time zone; pass one back unchanged to book_appointment.
Parametersdaysstart_datebusiness_idrequired
contact_business
Message a business
Send a question, quote request or callback request to a business that has can_contact (kinds it takes are in get_business). The business gets the message and the person's name, email and phone (phone required for callbacks) and replies to them directly. Confirm the message and details with the person first, then call with confirmed=true.
Book a time from check_availability for the person you are helping. First confirm the business, the time, their name, email and mobile number with them, then call with confirmed=true. The business receives the booking on its calendar and the person's contact details for this booking only.
How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
