Overview

AI-generated overview

MakeHybrid exposes a MakeHybrid account's LinkedIn, messaging channels, inbox and work trackers as tools an assistant can read and act on.

What you can do
  • Discover and inspect API operations: search the catalogue, describe one operation, check connection status and setup.
  • Read LinkedIn data: chats, messages, profiles, posts, reactions, search, company pages and work trackers.
  • Write to LinkedIn: send messages, publish posts, comment, react, invite and move tasks.
  • Manage connected accounts and hand out secure links for connecting, reconnecting or disconnecting accounts and creating keys.
  • Work the shared inbox across WhatsApp, Telegram, email, SMS, LINE, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook, and send X messages.
When to use it
Useful when an assistant should work inside a MakeHybrid account: running LinkedIn outreach and posting, answering conversations across messaging channels, or reading the shared inbox and work trackers without leaving the chat.
Requirements
A MakeHybrid account and API key, supplied as MAKEHYBRID_API_KEY (the README says the install prompts for it and keeps it in the system keychain). Runs either as a remote endpoint or as the npm package makehybrid-mcp over stdio, which needs Node.js. MAKEHYBRID_BASE_URL is optional and defaults to the provider's host.
Before you install
The key grants access to the whole account, including 253 write operations that send messages, publish posts, comment, invite and move tasks; the server asks the assistant to confirm anything public, sent to a person or deleting. Account connection flows involve LinkedIn passwords and li_at session cookies, which the server says should be entered on a link page, never in chat. Billing and payment details are also reachable through the same key.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Makehybrid in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.makehybrid%2Fmcp/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

MakeHybrid for Gemini CLI

Your MakeHybrid account — LinkedIn, the messaging channels, the work trackers — as tools in Gemini CLI.

bash
gemini extensions install https://github.com/makehybrid/mcp

It asks for your MakeHybrid API key at install and keeps it in your system keychain. The key is on your dashboard at makehybrid.com; leave the address setting empty unless your provider gave you one of its own.

Check it worked:

List my connected LinkedIn accounts.

Using the Gemini app instead?

The app does not run extensions. It takes a remote MCP server as a custom app on its Connected apps page — open gemini.google.com/apps, choose Add a custom app, and paste the address your dashboard gives you as the MCP server URL. Nothing to install, and the same tools.

Why this one runs a local server

Gemini CLI expands ${VAR} inside an extension manifest's env block only — not inside httpUrl, url or headers. So a remote-URL extension could not carry your own key, and every install would have to be edited by hand. Running the published package over stdio lets the settings block below prompt for the key and keep it out of the file.

Publishing this

The extension gallery indexes public GitHub repositories on its own — there is no form and no approval. What it needs is this directory at the ROOT of a public repo, with gemini-extension.json as a top-level file, and a tagged release.

[email protected] is on npm, so npx -y makehybrid-mcp@latest resolves and this no longer waits on anything.

From a checkout of the monorepo:

bash
cd extensions/geminigit init -b maingit remote add origin https://github.com/makehybrid/mcp.gitgit add -Agit commit -m "MakeHybrid for Gemini CLI"git push -u origin maingit tag v1.0.0 && git push origin v1.0.0

A separate repo rather than a subfolder of the monorepo, for two reasons: the manifest has to be at the root for the gallery to see it, and the monorepo is private and names a plan that is not public yet. These three files name neither — checked, not assumed.

makehybrid_about

MakeHybrid: what this does

What MakeHybrid is, what this connection can do, and what it needs before it can act. ANSWER ANY GENERAL QUESTION ABOUT MAKEHYBRID WITH THIS -- "what do you do?", "what can you help with?", "what is this?" -- and call it first when you have not used this server before. It needs no API key and no sign-in, and reports whether this connection is signed in yet.

Takes no parameters.

makehybrid_list_operations

MakeHybrid: find an operation

Search the MakeHybrid LinkedIn API catalogue (431 operations: 431 MakeHybrid API) and get back a compact table of plan, method, path, group and operation id, plus the total number of matches. Start here, then pass an id to makehybrid_describe_operation, then to makehybrid_read or makehybrid_write.

Parametersplangrouplimitquery

makehybrid_describe_operation

MakeHybrid: describe an operation

Show one operation in full: method, path, plan, group, required scope, path parameters, summary, the source file it was derived from, and the exact makehybrid_read/makehybrid_write arguments that invoke it. Use this before calling an operation you have not called before.

Parametersrefrequired

makehybrid_read

MakeHybrid: read anything

READ any operation in the MakeHybrid manifest -- the GET ones, 178 of them (431 MakeHybrid API). Chats, messages, profiles, posts, reactions, search, company pages and the work trackers. This tool cannot change anything: it refuses every operation that is not a GET, so it is safe to call while exploring. Documented in MakeHybrid's own API reference at /linkedin-docs.html. The catalogue is derived from the live API, so an endpoint added upstream becomes readable here as soon as the manifest refreshes, with no new tool. Use makehybrid_list_operations to find the operation id and makehybrid_describe_operation to see its parameters, then call it here. Authentication is handled by the server.

Parametersbodyplanrequiredqueryoperationrequiredpath_params

makehybrid_write

MakeHybrid: send, post and change

WRITE through any operation in the MakeHybrid manifest that changes something -- 253 of them (431 MakeHybrid API): sending a message, publishing a post, commenting, reacting, inviting, moving a task. This tool refuses every GET; read with makehybrid_read. Documented in MakeHybrid's own API reference at /linkedin-docs.html. Use makehybrid_list_operations to find the operation id and makehybrid_describe_operation to see its parameters, then call it here. Authentication is handled by the server.

Parametersbodyplanrequiredqueryoperationrequiredpath_params

makehybrid_status

MakeHybrid: server status

Report the configured host, enabled plans, whether an API key is configured (never the key itself), the manifest's origin, digest and age, the operation count per plan, and whether writes are enabled. Use this when a call fails unexpectedly.

Takes no parameters.

Sign a LinkedIn account in with the member's own email and password. DO NOT ASK ANYONE FOR A PASSWORD IN A CONVERSATION: send them POST /linkedin/connect/link {action: connect} instead, which gives a one-hour link to a page of ours where the password is typed, and which asks for whatever LinkedIn wants next -- a verification code, or an approval in its app. This route is for a caller with its own sign-in form. The password is forwarded once and never stored. LinkedIn answers most first sign-ins with a challenge, so a 201 here usually means the account was challenged rather than connected — follow up on POST /linkedin/connect/checkpoint. -- MakeHybrid API plan, POST /linkedin/connect/credentials, group connect.
