Ranked, live checked startup directories, launch sites, and communities to submit to

Overview

AI-generated overview

Builds a ranked, live-checked list of directories, launch sites and communities to submit a product launch to, via an Apify actor.

What you can do
  • Build a ranked submission list: describe the product and get directories, launch sites, newsletters, communities, subreddits, marketplaces, press and review pages, and optionally curated GitHub lists.
  • Filter and score places by category, keywords, type, free-only, dofollow-only and minimum fit score.
  • Check each submission page live (up, moved, parked, gone, login required, submit form found, prices, newest date) and add a Tranco popularity rank.
  • Limit rows per run, skip places returned by earlier runs via a state key, and cap run cost.
When to use it
Useful when planning a product launch and you want a shortlist of where to submit, with current page status, pricing and link type rather than a stale static list.
Requirements
Local Node.js 18 or newer process run via npx, plus an Apify account and an Apify API token supplied as the APIFY_TOKEN environment variable. Network access to Apify is required; the tool is listed without a token but calls need one.
Before you install
Requires an Apify API token, which grants access to your Apify account. Runs are billed per event to that account (per delivered place row and per run start), so set max_charge_usd to cap spending. The work runs on Apify's platform and the product description and inputs are sent there.

Installation

Launch Directory List Builder MCP Server

An MCP server for the Mamba Labs Launch Directory List Builder actor on Apify. Describe what you are launching and get a ranked list of places to submit it, each checked live today.

What's Inside

What it does

The places (directories, launch sites, newsletters, communities, subreddits, marketplaces, press and review pages, and curated GitHub lists) come from the public domain awesome-submitlist catalog, read fresh on every run. Each row carries the submission link, price, link type, audience, rules, and a fit score against your description. The actor checks each submission page live, with robots.txt obeyed: up, moved to another site, parked, gone, login first, submit form found, prices shown, and the newest date on the page. A Tranco popularity rank is added per site. One free summary row closes each run.

All of the work runs on Apify. This package is a thin client that starts the actor run, waits for it, and hands back the dataset rows.

Quick start

You need Node.js 18 or newer and an Apify account with an API token.

Add this to your Claude Desktop config (claude_desktop_config.json), Cursor, or any MCP client:

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "mamba-launch-directory-list-builder": {      "command": "npx",      "args": ["-y", "@mambalabsdev/mcp-launch-directory-list-builder"],      "env": {        "APIFY_TOKEN": "your-apify-token"      }    }  }}

Restart the client. The build_launch_directory_list tool appears.

Build a list of places to launch a product

Build a ranked list of places to submit a product launch: startup directories, product launch sites, newsletters, communities, subreddits, marketplaces, press and review pages, and optionally curated GitHub lists. Describe the product and each row comes back with the submission link, price, dofollow or nofollow, audience, rules, and a fit score, checked live today (up, moved, parked, gone, login first, submit form, prices shown, newest date on the page) and ranked by Tranco popularity. The places come from the public domain awesome-submitlist catalog. A run that does not succeed is returned as an error with its run ID. Read-only; requires an APIFY_TOKEN and is billed per place row.
